About The Position

The Senior Manager, Sustainability & Social Compliance, reporting to the VP Human Resources, will serve as a key member of a global social compliance team, with the majority of team members based in Hong Kong. This is a unique and impactful opportunity that will support both New Era Cap and ’47 Brand. This role provides strategic and technical leadership for the company’s compliance and sustainability programs, ensuring alignment with the Workplace Code of Conduct, international labor standards, environmental regulations, and customer/licensor requirements. The position will drive continuous improvement across the supply chain, integrating sustainability goals with social compliance efforts to protect and enhance brand reputation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sustainability, Human Rights, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in social compliance, sustainability, or corporate responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge of global labor standards, environmental regulations, and ESG frameworks.
  • Experience managing audits and corrective action plans across regions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including cross-cultural collaboration.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Stay current and lead compliance with global legislation (e.g., California Climate Disclosure Bill, NY Fashion Act, EU CSDDD, UFLPA) and ensure organizational readiness.
  • Monitor and report on environmental performance across the supply chain, in collaboration with global partners.
  • Engage suppliers on sustainability practices, including energy use, waste reduction, and climate impact.
  • Develop and implement sustainability initiatives aligned with corporate ESG goals and regional priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with the Hong Kong-based compliance team to implement and monitor global social compliance strategies.
  • Lead North American execution of audit programs, including risk-based planning, auditor coordination, and performance evaluation.
  • Support supplier onboarding and training in alignment with global compliance standards.
  • Advise suppliers on corrective action plans and monitor remediation progress in coordination with regional team members.
  • Ensure consistent communication and alignment between U.S. and Hong Kong teams on compliance priorities and reporting.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership and the Board on compliance and sustainability performance.
  • Contribute to annual FLA evaluations and other external assessments.
