About The Position

Reporting into the Director, Retail Development, the Sr. Manager, Retail Development will identify and drive opportunities supporting NBCUniversal brands within the Food, Beauty, and Care lines of business at Walmart and Sam's Club. This Sr. Manager will partner both internally with our Category, Franchise Strategy, Product Development, and Retail Marketing teams as well as externally with licensee partners, merchants, and Entertainment Council and Delegation members to support the development, pitch, award, and implementation of merchandise programs that deliver incremental product placement at retail and deliver against annual revenue targets. This role is based at our Comcast NBCUniversal office in Rogers, Arkansas near Walmart and Sam's Club Campus/Home Office. This role is Hybrid with an expectation of four full days (at a minimum) a week spent in office (subject to change). Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years of National Account CPG sales experience in the Food, Beauty, or Personal Care business. Walmart and Sam's Club experience preferred.

  • Deep knowledge of retail business including promotional partnerships/packaged goods partners, home entertainment, and consumer products businesses. Experience in licensing a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate consistently and effectively with supervisor, UP&E colleagues, and cross-divisional stakeholders.
  • Strong Walmart and Sam's eCommerce experience.
  • Open to additional projects or account responsibility.
  • Ability to engage with retail buyers on a consistent basis.
  • Demonstrates ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly adaptable and resourceful; proactive versus reactive
  • Understanding of Scintilla, Madrid, Walmart +, and Walmart Connect basics
  • Must available during standard work hours, be willing and able to work at the Rogers, AR office location for a minimum of four days a week (potentially up to five days a week).

Responsibilities

  • Develops strategies that maximize NBCUniversal IP product and placement across the Food, Beauty, and Care lines of business that ladder up to the broader Walmart Annual Account Plans and corresponding revenue deliverables that are tied to goal setting.
  • Engages and develops influential relationships with merchants with the partnership and guidance of the Director and Walmart/Sam's Club “expert” for UP&E.
  • Proactively and actively owns the Walmart selling calendar, owns and drives each buyer meeting agenda, presentation, and consistently delivers timely recaps for both internal and external partners.
  • The Sr. Manager is the leading authority on key category and departmental strategies for internal teams. Keeps up to date on organizational structure shifts and buyer changes and communicates those to internal and external partners in a timely manner.
  • Develops strong relationships with suppliers/licensees' retail account teams to support the sell in of NBCUniversal IP; Regularly reviews performance of existing licensees and makes recommendations to Category based on buyer feedback, first-hand experience, and program opportunities.
  • Meets with licensees both independently or in partnership with Category and proactively maintains and publishes the meeting agenda, key takeaways/notes, and outlines next steps.
  • Proactively prioritizes product placement for marketing program development, tracks all UPCs, Online IDs, and consistently updates Master Account Tracker (MAT) documents, and communicates all meeting dates.
  • Partners with licensees on digital excellence.
  • Partners with Theatrical Promotions to support promotional partner placement and features as needed.
  • Contributes to Entertainment Council/Delegation presentations (and other key meetings throughout the year) with forward-thinking approach, including building out account/category-specific strategies and approach into slides.
  • Has an entrepreneurial spirit and thinks about new ways to work or drive new processes, go to market, and thinks big from ideation through to execution.
  • Can manage a wide range of tasks or situations, demonstrating a broad skill set and the ability to switch between different roles or activities that show versatility, adaptability, and resiliency.
  • Monitors travel and entertainment budget within company budget, and files all expense reports in a timely manner.
  • Completes additional projects and assignments, manages additional retailers or lines of business as assigned or as needed for our overall business.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the needs of the team.
