The Role: Reporting to the Director of Operations – Cary, and as part of the ETS HR leadership team, the Sr. HR Manager will manage and participate in planning, developing, recommending, and implementing human resources activities, policies, procedures, and programs for the Cary, IL manufacturing plant.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or a related field from a four-year college or university.
  • A minimum of 10–12 years of experience leading an HR team, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with a variety of computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software; HRIS experience preferred (ADP).
  • Knowledge of business and management principles related to strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comply with policies, procedures, governmental regulations, and employment laws; requires broad technical knowledge of human resources laws and regulations, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofreading materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and manage a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization; ability to interpret instructions presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and directs staffing activities to ensure the availability of qualified candidates; fulfills affirmative action and equal employment opportunity responsibilities across all employment activities; maintains accurate records of employment activities and other required reports, logs, and documentation in compliance with EEO regulations.
  • Manages training and employee development programs; develops and monitors succession planning in alignment with plant needs and organizational design.
  • Administers performance appraisal programs to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity.
  • Builds strategies and plans to improve organizational and plant structure.
  • Ensures compliance with legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources functions; confirms that policies, procedures, and reporting remain compliant.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; maintains the employee handbook and related documentation.
  • Maintains affirmative action records in accordance with program requirements; maintains additional records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Establishes and manages department recordkeeping and report filing; participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings as needed.
  • Maintains compliance in the management of electronic and paper personnel files for employee transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance appraisals, and terminations.
  • Responsible for employee relations counseling, issue resolution, and exit interviews; advises management on appropriate resolutions.
  • Develops and administers various human resources plans and procedures for plant employees.
  • May manage the safety function and maintain associated records to minimize liability and support accident prevention initiatives.
  • May provide functional guidance for administrative support needs.
  • Supports company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs, and activities.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Plans, organizes, and controls all department activities; participates in developing department goals, objectives, and system design.
  • Implements initiatives identified through strategic planning; evaluates reports, decisions, and departmental results in relation to established goals and strategic plans. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to drive continuous improvement in departmental efficiency and service delivery.
  • Implements and administers compensation programs to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness; updates job descriptions as needed; conducts salary surveys and compensation analyses; manages payroll administration, information, activities, and programs.
  • Manages and administers benefit programs in accordance with company policies and procedures; responds to benefits-related inquiries; actively participates in annual open enrollment communications, transactions, and audits.
