A little bit about our team The Global Catalog Deal Analysis team partners with teams across the business to evaluate strategic investments, catalog acquisitions, and artist/label deals. We combine deep financial expertise with data analytics to ensure smart, high-impact decisions that drive global growth. Your Role As Sr. Manager you will lead financial modeling, valuation, and analytics for all catalog recorded music-related investments. You will oversee deal assessments, investment strategy alignment while translating complex financial data into compelling narratives that influence executive-level decision-making.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of investment banking, underwriting, or strategic finance experience in the music industry, with deep knowledge of catalogs, rights, royalties, and deal structures.
  • Expert in financial modeling, valuation (DCF, market comps, precedent transactions), and scenario analysis.
  • Skilled at translating complex valuation metrics into actionable insights and persuasive narratives for senior leadership.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with large datasets; familiarity with BI/analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) preferred.
  • Excel super user (VBA, Power Query, keyboard shortcuts, etc.)
  • Strategic problem solver with strong discernment and the ability to align investment decisions with global growth objectives.
  • Ability to cultivate strong cross-functional relationships and communicate effectively with senior-level management team
  • Ability to work independently as well as to work as part of a team
  • Intellectual curiosity and a continuous-improvement mentality
  • Ability to make sound decisions with imperfect information and maintain composure under pressure

  • Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, CFA, or other advanced finance or analytics credentials.
  • Experience with Python, R, or advanced analytics/data visualization tools.
  • Background in global music, media, or rights-based businesses.
  • Familiarity with automated modeling tools, modern data workflows, and process optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage financial and strategic analysis of all Global Catalog deals by collaborating with different business units to model investment returns, establish strategic rationale, and present deals to executive management for approval
  • Be responsible for due diligence for new and existing deals, including structuring, financial analysis, and post-mortem evaluation
  • Partner with Business & Legal Affairs, A&R, Marketing, FP&A, Commerce, and Corporate Development teams to evaluate opportunities, optimize deal structures, and align investments with global growth targets
  • Use SQL, BI, and analytics tools to extract, cleanse, analyze, and visualize complex datasets to support deal evaluation and strategic insights
  • Present insights, recommendations, and investment rationales to label executives
  • Set guidelines and governance standards for financial modeling, deal valuation, and analytics
  • Manage the approval process for executive approval-level deals, including preparation and submission of transaction summaries, and presentation decks
  • Be responsible for the deal valuation tracker, ensuring timely progression through the corporate approval process and on-time completion of all required deliverables
