Alkami is hiring an experienced Accounting professional who is culture-driven to join our Finance & Accounting Team as Sr. Manager, Accounting. In this role, you will have oversight of all accounting under GAAP related to procurement and payment cycles, research, analysis, and resolution of complex payment and vendor issues including the cost side of our relationships with third party providers of SaaS products we offer to our clients. In this role, you will also oversee all accounting under ASC 842 for the Company’s operating type leases, as well as accounting for all cash accounts including the accounting for our holdings of marketable securities under ASC 820. Equally important to you and your team will be the ongoing maintenance of adequate internal controls relating to these functions and the related work paper documentation needed to evidence the effective operation of these controls.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of Accounting experience, CPA certification required
  • Experience in Accounting leadership working in a shared service, corporate, operational, fast-growing environment
  • Strong knowledge and use of basic accounting principles, practices, procedures, and internal controls with emphasis on accounts payable and general ledger accounting
  • Skilled in the maintenance and control of appropriate data collection and record keeping systems
  • Ability to professionally communicate both internally and externally with individuals at all levels of an organization, including senior leadership
  • Skilled in Microsoft suite; proficient in complex accounting systems; NetSuite and Concur experience a plus
  • Excellent financial and analytical abilities
  • Self-starter with a can-do attitude and ability to lead with sense of urgency
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting; flexible, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced business environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with acute attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines and goals
  • Exceptional time management skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of the recording and reporting around the procurement and payment cycle.
  • Develop policies and procedures and monitor internal processes and controls to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Manage recording of costs and tracking of tangible and intangible assets, including calculating and recording depreciation and amortization
  • Develop processes and controls for the capitalization and amortization of software development costs in compliance with ASC 350-40
  • Review and approve all payroll related entries
  • Implement processes and controls for new accounting pronouncements, including writing technical memos
  • Perform judgmental accrual and reserve analysis and ensure accurate balance sheet accounts
  • Coordinate with other accounting teams to ensure that the overall monthly close is completed accurately and timely
  • Lead the monthly close process related to all procurement and payment related transactions, review account reconciliations, and ensure the accuracy of journal entries
  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Supervise and manage department staff, including training, hiring, delegation of duties, evaluations and discipline
  • Manage the professional development of direct reports by establishing annual goals and objectives for each
  • Support the Senior Director of Accounting with special projects and process improvements as needed
