About The Position

The Senior Manager of Shared Services – Accounting is responsible for overseeing centralized accounting operations that support multiple clients, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely financial reporting. This role manages managers and team leads across shared services accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), inventory accounting, and 340B-related journal entries. The Senior Manager provides strategic and operational leadership, maintains strong internal controls, and partners closely with Finance leadership and operational stakeholders. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership within a shared services or corporate accounting environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading managers of teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and oversight for shared services accounting functions by managing managers and team leads responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, inventory accounting, and 340B journal entries.
  • Manages and develops managers and people leaders across shared services accounting functions, promoting accountability, consistency of execution, and alignment to company objectives.
  • Provides coaching, performance management, and succession planning oversight for managers and team leads, with accountability for team structure, workload allocation, and talent development.
  • Oversees the integrity of the general ledger, including review and approval of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Coordinates and leads the monthly close process for shared services functions to ensure accurate and timely financial results.
  • Oversees preparation, validation, and posting of 340B-related journal entries, ensuring alignment with program requirements and internal reporting needs.
  • Provides oversight of inventory accounting, including reconciliation of inventory balances and reserve analysis.
  • Ensures effective AP and AR governance, with day-to-day execution owned by functional managers.
  • Establishes governance, controls, and escalation frameworks for shared services teams, intervening on complex or high-risk issues.
  • Partners with business leaders, auditors, and internal stakeholders as the senior accounting leader for shared services-related matters.
