About The Position

Under the general direction of the Assistant Vice President, Enterprise Systems, the Sr IT Parking Systems Manager manages budgets, resources, and personnel necessary to ensure the integrity, reliability, and availability of the Parking System(s). The parking program is vital to airport operation and the services officered by DFW airport and major contributor to revenue generated by the airport. This position also ensures all work performed addresses the goals and performance objectives and complies with Airport Board policies and procedures. Work involves extensive contact and coordination with Airport Board staff, vendors, contractors, and outside agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, business administration or related field.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in Information Systems, Parking Systems, or related field.
  • Two 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
  • Knowledge of current computer technology, technological developments, and trends.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of systems analysis and design.
  • Ability to support and maintain effective business information systems.
  • Ability to document system changes and to write procedures that are readily interpreted by non-technical system users.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of business and public administration as they relate to information systems.
  • Ability to delegate work and to coordinate and supervise the work of professional and technical personnel and contractors in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale.
  • Ability to train, supervise and monitor the activities of employees.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing at all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both within and outside the organization.
  • Must obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Airport Identification/Access Badge (badge) in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements in Chapter 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 1500 et al., and DFW Airport’s Airport Security Program within thirty (30) days from date of employment and maintain qualification for a SIDA badge upon each badge renewal.

  • Knowledge of and experience in information systems design, development, implementation and support methodologies.
  • Advanced experience in the configuration and support in Parking systems, including proficiency in applicable framework technologies:
  • Parking Systems including Parking Revenue Control Systems, Parking Guidance Systems, Parking Inventory Systems, Vault Cash Systems and License Plate Recognition System

Responsibilities

  • Manages various Application Engineering Teams in area of focus and conducts employee performance evaluations, participates in personnel reviews, aids in career development, and interviews prospective employees.
  • Assists the Assistant Vice President of Enterprise Systems in planning and organizing activities of the section, including scheduling and assigning work to meet completion dates and estimated resource needs.
  • Oversees all activities in the application production and Non-Production environment including administration, configuration, upgrades, maintenance, code migration, performance monitoring, system support, and end-user support for all systems in area of focus.
  • Provides advice and guidance to departments in the acquisition, operation, and maintenance of specialized systems.
  • Ensures the implementation, configuration and framework of Enterprise Application Systems are stable and scalable and comply with department and Board standards.
  • Participates on cross-functional teams to implement improved business solutions/business processes based on strategic plans.
  • Research, reviews, and implements new functionality and new application system components.
  • Oversees configuration management of Enterprise Application Systems in area of focus such as bug analysis, patch testing and application, and support requirements analysis and customization design.
  • Ensure all parking systems follow Payment Card Industry standards and the credit card system are managed according to DFW Board and Industry standards and policies.
