About The Position

Job Summary Directly reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant – Funds will be responsible for full-service reporting, analysis, and reconciliation of funds holding multiple solar energy projects. This will include preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, month-end closing process, preparing financial statements and audit compliance. The successful candidate will be one who takes ownership of the assigned funds and has a willingness to learn and do whatever is necessary to get the job done in an accurate and timely manner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs a variety of financial activities in more than one functional area of accounting, such as general accounting, cost accounting, financial budgeting, and analysis. Complete monthly accounting close process and fund partnership reporting. Maintains proper controls, documentation, and reconciliations in the company’s financial accounting systems. Ensures that transactions are properly authorized, documented and recognized in accordance with the company’s SOX compliant control environment. Ensures that fund financial reports accurately reflect the financial performance and condition of the business. Prepares financial statements in accordance with general accepting accounting principles (GAAP). Applies knowledge of GAAP accounting topics, to include fixed assets, leases, asset retirement obligations, taxes, and debt. Partners with various company departments, including Finance, Asset Management, Legal, and Transaction teams. Recommends and participates in changes to systems, policies, and procedures to ensure timely and accurate implementation. Assists with external audit requests and inquiries.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited four-year college or university with two (2) to four (4) years of experience; experience in public accounting or at a publicly traded company is preferred.
  • Ability to be a self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to effectively collaborate with other business functions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Oracle Fusion Cloud software is desired but not required.
  • experience in public accounting or at a publicly traded company is preferred.
