Job Summary: As Sr. Director, Product Management for our Debit & Money Management product team, you will create, own, manage and scale our debit and money management products for merchants and consumers, including our PayPal Debit Card (PPDC), PayPal Business Debit Mastercard (BDMC), money movement & funds in, including direct deposit. You’ll drive the vision, roadmap and execution for our suite of products that help merchants and consumers purchase with debit, while realizing unique benefits such as cashback, rewards, advance payroll deposit, and payment flexibility. We are seeking an exceptional product leader who thrives on changing the status quo and is laser focused on making every experience seamless, simple, and intuitive. Requirements

  • 12+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of experience leading others
  • Proven leadership: self-motivated and a self-starter with a “can do” attitude.
  • Team player, energetic personality, quality minded, focused, committed and able to work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • High degree of professional confidence and credibility with effective presence, strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate technical concepts and plans at all levels.
  • Sharp business judgment, detail oriented yet able to always see the “big picture”
  • Strong partnering and influencing skills leveraging all communication mediums and throughout the organization, including senior leaders.
  • Strong data and analytical background
  • Proven track record multitasking and managing multiple releases concurrently
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, engineering or a related field.
  • 15+ years of product management experience.
  • 10+ years of experience managing teams of product managers/leaders.
  • Prior experience at a FinTech or in the financial services space working on debit, money management, and funds in products.
  • Proven track record of launching successful products on mobile and on web.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional groups and delivering results in fast paced, high-growth, and matrixed environments
  • Deep empathy and appreciation of customer needs
  • Demonstrated success delivering 0-1 products as well as scaling existing products
  • Ability to grasp complex business/technical concepts, user scenarios, and business drivers, address ambiguity and make informed decisions
  • Proficiency dealing with product complexity and initiative ambiguity
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and listening communication skills and proficient communicating across a range of stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Establish a shared vision across the company for a portfolio of products, or platform products enabling development & scalability, with a deliberate and cohesive strategy.
  • Leads product strategy development, and develops a clear, executable view of the product portfolio strategy with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Shapes the architectural roadmap and balances innovative design and technical implementation, while balancing regulatory requirements, time-to-market, meeting customer needs and product profitability.
  • Champions the customer experience and prioritizes customer needs in product requirements and decision making.
  • Defines and uses metrics that inform the success of products including usability studies, research and market analysis.
  • Standardizes workstreams to include analytics, customer discovery, market research and competitive analysis to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Responsible for product portfolio profitability, including budgetary decisions.
  • Leads operational mechanisms that drive execution and accountability including Product Reviews, Operating Reviews, and Business Reviews.
  • Interfaces with senior leadership as needed.
  • Maximizes efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the standard.
  • Develop and implement product strategies that align to PayPal and the financial services organization’s strategic objectives and ensure a cohesive and comprehensive vision for our debit & money management products.
  • Oversee the entire product development lifecycle from concept to launch including research, design, development, experimentation and iteration.
  • Work closely with our internal teams like design, engineering, commercial, marketing, legal, compliance, risk, data, identity and customer service teams as well as external partners (Bancorp, credit bureaus, networks) to ensure product success, facilitate communication and alignment across teams and departments.
  • Participate in the development and execution of enterprise-level strategic planning processes, aligning release and program roadmaps with the organization’s overarching vision and OKR’s. Ensure that all initiatives are strategically positioned to maximize their contribution to the company’s long-term success.
  • Lead and mentor a team of diverse product leaders and managers. Foster a culture of working customer back, putting people first, winning as a team, innovation, growth and excellence. Participate in personal performance management and development activities including cross-training.
  • Define and articulate through narratives, presentations, and documentation the vision and direction of our debit, money management, and funds in products.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, able to prioritize among conflicting needs, advocate a course of action and pursue it consistently.
  • Ability to adapt, be flexible and responsive to dynamic situations.
  • Challenge traditional products and experiences and build the next generation of consumer and merchant products and experiences.
