Position Title: Sr. Director of Information Technology Innovation Reports to: CFO Direct Reports: IT Manager, Technology PMO, Help Desk Technician (3) Department: Administration Location: Causeway Center Classification: On-site Core Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Status: Exempt Range: $102,100 - 130,700 SUMMARY Sr. Director of Information Technology is a strategic leader responsible for the vision, implementation, and management of Feeding Tampa Bay’s technology infrastructure, enterprise systems, and cybersecurity. You will not just "keep the lights on"—you will leverage technology to optimize food distribution logistics, enhance donor engagement, and improve data visibility to drive decision-making. This role requires a forward-thinking technologist who can translate complex technical concepts into actionable business strategies that support our mission. You will oversee the IT department, manage vendor relationships, and ensure our systems (including Salesforce, ERP, and Warehouse Management Systems) are scalable, secure, and user-friendly.

  • Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s Degree is a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in IT management, with at least 3-5 years in a Director-level or senior leadership role.
  • Technical Competencies:
  • Proven expertise in managing Salesforce environments (Admin certification is a plus) or similar complex CRMs.
  • Strong background in cloud environments (Microsoft Azure, Office 365) and network infrastructure (Cisco/Meraki).
  • Experience with ERP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Demonstrated success in cybersecurity management and disaster recovery planning.

  • Communication: Excellent ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and board members.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Technology Leadership
  • Develop and execute an IT roadmap that aligns with Feeding Tampa Bay’s strategic goals (e.g., "Pathways to Possibilities").
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Executive Team, identifying opportunities where technology can improve operational efficiency or expand community reach.
  • Lead the digital transformation of the organization, moving from legacy processes to integrated, cloud-first solutions.
  • Manage the annual IT budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively for hardware, software licensing, and capital projects.
  • Team Development: Lead and mentor a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture where "mistakes are gained knowledge."
  • External Ambassador: Act as a liaison to tech partners, donors, and the Feeding America network to bring best-in-class innovations to the Tampa Bay region.
  • Infrastructure & Operations
  • Oversee the management of the organization’s network, server infrastructure, and telecommunications across the main Causeway Center and remote sites (e.g., Trinity Cafe, Empowerment Centers).
  • Ensure high availability and reliability of critical systems, including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory tracking tools essential for food distribution.
  • Manage the IT Service Desk to provide responsive technical support for staff and volunteers, ensuring a seamless user experience.
  • Oversee mobile device management (MDM) for a fleet of remote devices used by drivers and field teams.
  • Strategic Innovation & Roadmap
  • Design and execute a technology roadmap that transitions FTB from traditional IT support to a proactive, data-first innovation engine.
  • Evaluate and implement high-impact technologies such as AI-driven demand forecasting, IoT for cold-chain monitoring, and automated warehouse logistics.
  • Lead the integration of technology within the facility, including the computer labs, "smart" grocery systems, and the high-volume production kitchen.
  • Enterprise Systems & Data Management
  • Act as the primary owner for core enterprise applications, specifically Salesforce (CRM), financial systems, and HRIS (Paylocity).
  • Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team to ensure data integrity, governance, and security, facilitating accurate reporting on meals served and donor impact.
  • Lead integration projects to ensure systems "talk" to each other, reducing manual data entry and breaking down information silos.
  • Break down silos between Programs, Development, and Operations. Build a unified data environment that provides a 360-degree view of the "neighbor" (client) journey.
  • Cybersecurity & Compliance
  • Design and enforce comprehensive information security policies to protect sensitive donor, volunteer, and client data.
  • Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and disaster recovery testing.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., PCI-DSS for donations, HIPAA where applicable for health programs).
  • Maintain a robust cybersecurity posture and disaster recovery plan, ensuring our mission-critical operations remain online during Florida’s hurricane seasons.
  • Vendor & Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and service excellence.
  • Manage relationships with external managed service providers (MSPs), software vendors, and contractors to ensure delivery on SLAs and contract terms.
  • Negotiate contracts and procurement for IT hardware and services.
