As the Senior Director of Digital Transformation, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the digital strategy specifically for the Electrical Connections segment, ensuring its alignment with both segment objectives and broader enterprise goals. You will act as the primary liaison between the segment’s leadership team and the Digital function, translating business needs into effective digital initiatives and technology solutions that drive operational excellence and innovation. You will relentlessly focus on the business value created from all the digital launches. In this role, you will champion the digital transformation agenda within your business segment—modernizing processes & systems, enabling data-driven decision-making, and continuously identifying opportunities to enhance customer experiences and business performance through technology. You will collaborate closely with segment leaders to understand their strategic priorities, show them the art-of-possible, and engage in digital initiatives that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enable business growth. The role will also play a pivotal part in fostering a culture of digital throughout the business segment. By building strong relationships with key stakeholders, you will become a trusted advisor, guiding the segment through emerging technologies. You will be an evangelist for nVent’s digital transformation strategy and nVent standard platforms within the segments. You will ensure multi-year roadmaps are in place for all the business transformation initiatives and they are updated every quarter.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably in Information Systems or Computer Science. MBA preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive digital leadership responsibility, managing distributed organizations and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders.
  • Proven track record in digital transformation, large-scale program delivery, and technology innovation.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry/domain required.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing digital strategies that deliver business value.
  • Strong knowledge of business systems like CRM, ERP, cloud technologies, cybersecurity frameworks, and enterprise data platforms.
  • Sound experience working in scaled agile environments.
  • Understand standard platforms and guide the segment/business to leverage standard platforms where possible. Able to identify gaps in the use of standard platforms and prioritize business efforts to move to the standard for scalability and resiliency purposes. Bridge technology and business by collaborating with Digital leaders and Platform Owners to understand direction and relay it back to the Segment/Function. Understand best practices, scalability, and gaps, and escalate and influence necessary changes within the segment/function. Prioritize scalable, enterprise-wide solutions, addressing point-solution problems only in rare cases. Capable of challenging segment/function requests for point solutions.
  • Ability to lead, organize, motivate, and develop direct and matrix teams and organizations.
  • Ability to travel domestically & internationally. Travel is expected at 20%.

Responsibilities

  • Segment Advocacy: Collaborates with various business functions to understand segment challenges and convert them to value creation opportunities. Acts as the focal for the entire segment including global operations.
  • Digital Advocacy: Ensures that Segments are leveraging nVent standard Digital platforms in a standard and uniform way (standard biz process & standard architecture), track & drive adoption. Be a bridge between the segment and the enterprise digital team.
  • Change Management and Governance: Owns the change management within the segment to ensure the successful launch of Digital products with zero disruption. Strives to eliminate "shadow-IT" within the segment. Is a key member of our company-wide Architecture-Cyber-Legal alignment process. Champions data governance within business platforms, working with digital platform owners.
  • Business Value Tracking: Publishes KPIs monthly to track the value generated from our digital investments, especially post-launch.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Builds and manages a high-performing Business Process Analyst team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and thought leadership.
