About The Position

PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Sr. Director of Community Partnerships & Programs provides leadership and management to the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) Community Partner Relations and Programs teams. This role focuses on building more food-secure communities using a data-driven, community-based approach through growing and deepening partner relationships. It also leads the further development and optimization of NTFB programming and the feeding network, in alignment with the organization’s strategic plan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, social services, public health, or related field

  • Excellent analytical and business modeling skills; strong writing skills; comfortable with public speaking; and an effective communicator with co-workers, managers, partners and neighbors
  • Demonstrated ability to establish, maintain and strengthen community relationships and an understanding of the record-keeping and stewardship systems that support successful programming
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office applications; experience with a CRM system (e.g., Oasis, Salesforce, Blackbaud) a plus
  • Seven years in relationship or account management, territory management, program management, human services, business development, and/or customer service
  • Five years of progressive management in organizations of comparable size and complexity, or in a comparable role demonstrating goal setting, driving accountability, and coaching skills.
  • Knowledge of or direct experience in food banking, food pantry operations, or direct neighbor-facing services
  • Program measurement and evaluation experience
  • Adapt effectively to workplace stressors, including customer complaints, compliance issues, meeting deadlines and competing priorities of significance to the team’s success
  • Analyze and interpret data to make informed decisions that can significantly impact the team and organization
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and provide strategic and tactical oversight of the community partner relations and programs teams, advancing NTFB’s strategic plan through effective partnership and program management
  • Drive partner and program site growth and optimization by building capability and capacity, and strategically expanding or reducing sites based on organizational priorities
  • Provide oversight and direction for neighbor-facing programs, including the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), Nutrition Education, Food4Kids, School Pantry, and Garden programs, ensuring quality, compliance and continuous improvement
  • Foster a customer-centric, community-focused, account management approach across teams and partner relationships
  • Develop and execute strategy-aligned network growth plans based on community need, including partner onboarding, development, infrastructure investment, and redistribution partnerships
  • Support the development of team goals and objectives to maximize nutritious meal distribution, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) meal enablement, and measurable program impact
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory and Feeding America contractual requirements and standards, including partner training, monitoring and contract management
  • Oversee performance measurement and data capture, including key performance indicators (KPIs) related to meals, pounds distributed, retail donations, neighbor counts, and partner satisfaction
  • Support the development and implementation of strategies to expand equitable food access, including comprehensive services initiatives, Food Rx expansion, and capturing holistic neighbor support resources, in collaboration with the Strategic Initiatives team
  • Build and maintain strong community and partner relationships to expand equitable food access and improve service delivery across NTFB’s service area
  • Lead cross-partner and cross-functional collaboration to address underserved areas using data insights, including the Hunger Index and other analytics
  • Provide leadership for governance and advisory structures, including Partner Council, Partner University and Partner Grant programs
  • Support partners through training, compliance support (NTFB, Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), Feeding Texas, Feeding America), contract management, advocacy, problem resolution and neighbor visibility, in collaboration with other NTFB functions such as Marketing & Communications, Transportation and Operations
  • Develop and manage the annual departmental budget, program and staff evaluation, work plans and performance management
  • Lead, mentor and develop staff while fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing culture
  • Represent NTFB in the community as an ambassador of our values and mission
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned
