About The Position

Highly skilled academic leader responsible for establishing and maintaining the College’s instructional and enrollment missions within the Undergraduate Studies area. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies, demonstrates strategic leadership and data-driven planning to operationalize all facets of instructional support, ensuring alignment with institutional goals. Adept at resolving complex issues through effective communication, research, and analysis, providing guidance to Chairs, Directors, and staff to influence policies, practices, and procedures. Collaborates closely with central administration to represent the college and departments, making impactful decisions related to curriculum, policy, and reporting. Develops and implements strategies to advance student success and academic excellence across the College. Provides leadership, coordination, and quality assurance for undergraduate academic and student support operations, ensuring alignment with college and university policies and best practices. Oversees undergraduate curriculum processes, including proposal review, policy compliance, documentation, and faculty and staff training. Supports accreditation and assessment-related activities by coordinating processes, maintaining accurate records, and facilitating timely reporting. Leads initiatives that promote student achievement, uphold academic standards, and support cohesive academic operations. Partners with departments and college units to implement strategic priorities related to academic programs and student support. Serves as a liaison between the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies and internal and external stakeholders to support policy interpretation, communication, and collaboration in service of the College’s academic mission.

Requirements

  • This position requires Bachelor’s degree in Education, Administration, Student Affairs, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field; with minimum of two years of experience in academic administration, enrollment management, curriculum development, or related areas.
  • Six years of direct experience may substitute for the required Bachelor’s degree.
  • Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate (https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1310) is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
  • SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
  • A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:
  • (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
  • (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree;
  • (c) Six years of direct experience for a master’s degree;
  • (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
  • (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
  • Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
  • Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.

Responsibilities

  • Undergraduate Enrollment Management: Extracts and researches quantitative and qualitative data to produce reports for internal and external stakeholders. Analyzes trends and develops relevant data sets to support informed decision-making related to policy and enrollment management. Provides data insights and interpretations to inform instructional reporting. Collaborates closely with the College and University Office of Decision Support, IT, and the Registrar's Office to ensure accurate capture of designated information (e.g., Enrollment, SCH, Degree Awards by campus, school, department, and faculty). Prepares and delivers ad hoc reports to the Dean's leadership and departmental teams. Identifies and recommends new courses for opening and low-enrollment courses for closure in collaboration with the Associate Deans and department representatives. Communicates decisions and actions to relevant departments and Associate Deans and verifies their implementation. Provides ongoing enrollment data and collaborates with departments to address unmet demand, particularly for high-demand major courses, service courses, and general education offerings. Collaborates with all COED departments to enhance and monitor enrollment activities, new course implementations, and scheduling operations. Works closely with the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies and provides instruction to department Chairs and staff on course scheduling data elements and related policies. Offers guidance, troubleshooting, and support to department Chairs and staff regarding challenges with university course scheduling processes, policies, and procedures. Participates in committees and workgroups focused on student enrollment and system course scheduling as needed. Additionally, serves on university-wide committees and workgroups addressing academic data requirements, such as the ODS Data Dive and ODS SIS initiatives. Monitors and communicates deadlines for the completion of student success-related initiatives, including textbook orders, grade submissions (midterm and final), and course scheduling and planning.
  • Curriculum Development, Accreditation, and Student Record Management: Manage curriculum development, accreditation, student records, advising, and clinical education coordination. Responsibilities include overseeing undergraduate curriculum proposals, ensuring compliance with policies, supporting accreditation efforts, maintaining accurate records, and providing training to faculty and staff. The role also handles certification and graduation verification requests and leads student support and advising services to uphold high standards. Support accreditation efforts through preparing documentation, analyzing curriculum data for improvements, and ensuring compliance with policies and standards. Develop and revise curriculum management policies, maintain organized records, standardize materials, and address academic record verification and student documentation issues. Review and approve curriculum proposals to ensure they meet institutional and accreditation standards, coordinating review processes across committees, and updating systems accordingly. Collaborate with academic and administrative offices to streamline curriculum workflows, maintain accurate student records, and serving as a communication liaison among faculty, departments, and administrative units to ensure smooth curriculum development and record management.
  • Collaborator in Advising Leadership and College Collaboration: Collaborates with undergraduate advising leadership and advising staff to support the strategic direction and effective operation of academic advising within the College of Education. Serves as a liaison between the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies and advising leadership to support policy interpretation, communication, and implementation. Contributes to advisor recruitment, onboarding, and professional development efforts, and represents the College in university-level advising and student success initiatives. Maintains collaborative relationships with campus partners and external stakeholders to support effective, compliant, and student-centered advising practices.
  • Certification and Graduation Verification: Respond to requests from employers, school districts, and external agencies to confirm a student’s program completion, graduation status, and eligibility for certification. This involves ensuring accurate and timely communication to support students' professional and academic progress.
