As a creative strategist in Enterprise Brand Strategy & Activation, you will be responsible for partnering across Marketing to lead the development and execution of compelling creative strategies in support of marketing plans. This role will collaborate across stakeholders supporting both P&C and Enterprise needs to implement data-driven integrated marketing communications and tactical plans that drive brand and business ROI. You’ll work in a fast-paced creative environment while supporting the Creative Strategy Director in ensuring your portfolio of projects meets or exceeds partner and leadership expectations. This hybrid position is based in Columbus, OH. Candidates located near a Nationwide campus will collaborate in office 2 days per week and enjoy the flexibility of remote work the remaining days. Current Nationwide Remote Associates may also be considered. As a Senior Consultant, you'll lead the development and execution of marketing strategies using highly advanced marketing principles. You will execute on future business or marketing needs driven by quantitative data/research, competitive insights and/or consumer behaviors. Additionally, we'll count on you to ensure a strong focus on end-to-end customer experience, delivering exceptional customer experience overall.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration or related field; graduate degree highly desirable.
  • Typically, 10 or more years related professional experience in marketing, field sales management, insurance or related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing methodologies, insurance and/or financial services products including regulatory environment, distribution systems, and customers preferred.
  • Knowledge of product distribution methods.
  • Ability to develop and review research studies, communicate research findings, market recommendations based on findings, develop and negotiate contracts/service agreements with internal/external contacts, and lead multiple projects planning projects.
  • Ability to function independently or in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates core marketing proficiencies, including strategy development, utilization of insights and analytics, building brand equity and developing effective marketing communications.
  • Command of and ability to understand and deliver customer focus, operating capabilities, and strategic capabilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building go-to-market strategies within Property & Casualty space and in-depth knowledge of distribution channels such as brokerage/firms, wholesale and MGU’s is a plus.
  • Technical insurance designations such as CPCU, CLU, ChFC, FLMI considered a plus.
  • Prior marketing development and project leadership exposure/experience preferred.
  • Master’s degree may be substituted for a portion of the experience requirements as appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a proactive consultation lead for the Creative Strategy team, working across a high volume of Enterprise and Property & Casualty (Non-‑NF) partners to translate business strategic plans into clear, aligned creative documentation that influences project-‑level direction and enables effective execution for internal and external creative and delivery teams.
  • Shepherd the creative development process from briefing, through development and in-market optimization for medium to highly strategic and complex projects, always striving to get the very best creative output designed to support brand & business goals.
  • Ensure consistency in the way key attributes, benefits, and support points are communicated across programs and tactics by aligning messaging within and across target audiences.
  • Actively manages assigned portfolio of work in partnership with the Creative Strategy Director, project management, creative and channel leads, and marketing management partners, to build integrated, scalable strategies and programs informed by insights, market trends, learnings and past performance to continually improve return on investment (ROI) and enable informed decision-making.
  • Leads in the development and execution of strategies and plans that ensure long term sustainable growth of the business.
  • Synthesizes data and uses this understanding to support identification and innovation of business building solutions.
  • Leads sophisticated projects and processes within area of responsibility to deliver results with multiple target completion dates and shifting priorities.
  • Implements digital and traditional marketing tactics and media, including creative development process, planning, and execution.
  • Leads creative development and provides specific feedback on look and feel and develops strong creative briefs.
  • Monitors emerging innovative trends in content, design and marketing tactics
  • Reviews and analyzes customer insights and analytics and tools to understand and forecast market, competitor and customer needs and behavior.
  • Helps to define appropriate target audiences, evaluate sufficiency, and effectively get results with data-based decisions.
  • Ensures programs are on strategy and on schedule.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
