About The Position

The Senior Buyer position is an opportunity for an experienced candidate to take the next step in a responsibility at a fast-growing company that has the highest standards of talent, fun, and client success . Their role will play a pivotal part in helping Ovative continue our journey toward measuring and optimizing paid media to the true enterprise impact, not solely ecommerce impacts.

Requirements

  • 3 + years of experience directly responsible for national traditional media buying
  • Great communication and client management skills
  • Proven track record of success driving positive results through traditional channels
  • Proven mastery of the following: National TV media buying
  • Ability to provide pricing estimates utilizing SQAD and/or industry intel
  • External partner management

Nice To Haves

  • Strong understanding of digital channels
  • Previous experience in performance marketing, retail, eCommerce, etc.
  • STRATA/Freewheel media buying system, including invoice reconciliation
  • Familiarity with local television/radio and regional buying is a plus, but not

Responsibilities

  • National Video Investment : National Traditional media strategy & thought leadership: Act as a subject matter expert for National Television ( Broadcast, Cable, Syndication etc. ) by continually evolving Ovative’s approach to best practices , vetting and partnering with new technology companies , managing planning and execution tools, and staying on top of emerging trends
  • Support higher level, cross-functional marketing strategy projects by providing deep media expertise
  • Develop and execute media strategies and negotiation approaches aligned with client growth goals
  • Understand and find synergies across network partners and media channels (Broadcast, Cable, Programmatic, CTV) within the client mix in partnership with other team members
  • Support the cross-functional marketing team by providing insights and expertise about the role video/audio can play in delivering client goals
  • Video management & execution Lead day-to-day buy negotiations, execution and stewardship for video investments within an assigned set of clients , including:
  • Assist planning team to develop thoughtful strategic media recommendations that meet buy spec parameters such as budget, flighting, performance KPIs and partner considerations
  • Provide insights that will help planning team develop detailed national media recommendations that meet buy spec parameters such as budget, flighting, delivery, unit length splits and other criteria
  • Maintain productive relationships with national media partners and their sales representatives, keeping up to date on media developments and changes in the landscape
  • Work with Ovative cross-functional team to review client business performance and adjust buy approaches based on findings
  • Pull regular reporting and analyze data to inform appropriate optimizations
  • Manage media invoice reconciliation, including importing electronic invoices, matching them to ordered schedules, troubleshooting discrepancies, securing any needed makegoods , and reconciling creative traffic rotations
  • Regularly report budgets and delivery for client reporting, including actualizing after invoice reconciliation and posting
  • Work with partners to gather post-buys and ensure that clients receive all owed delivery
  • Send traffic instructions and creative assets to network partners
  • Custom analysis, reporting and insights Internal Agenc y and client relationship management : Work to achieve program objectives and KPIs, p roactively raise concerns as well as provide potential solutions
  • Provide inputs to develop client communication and as appropriate , presenting those materials to the internal agency team and/or client
  • Effectively manage & grow client relationship and establish trust and credibility
  • Recruit, train and manage new Ovative team members
  • Align with the agency culture of open communication and 360-degree feedback
