About The Position

As a Senior Business Analyst at Capital One, you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to major company challenges. General Responsibilities include: Identifying business challenges and opportunities for improvement and solving for them using analysis to make strategic or tactical recommendations; Performing modeling/analytics to assist new product and pricing strategies for various lending products; Supporting direct-to-consumer marketing efforts for select products, and strategic intent for products distributed through the retail channel, helping build targeted insights to inform the design and development of new customer experiences, as well as breakthrough technology and concepts designed to deliver on new go to market strategies; Supporting step-change improvements in credit performance by connecting drivers of future consumer credit trends to historical behavior, creating risk models, and testing hypotheses using rigorous monitoring and analysis; Involving problem frame-works, developing hypotheses, testing and analysis, solution development, scoping operational feasibility, leading implementation efforts and developing a monitoring plan; Working closely with colleagues across Capital One including: IT, Sales, Operations, Finance and others to drive improvement in quality, volume, service, and profitability. The role requires a strategic & analytic orientation with a proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics, complemented by a strong quantitative orientation. Strong business judgment, leadership and integrity are essential, along with impeccable written and oral communication credentials, strategic influencing skills, and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills. A clear results orientation, displaying an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals, and the ability to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment are also required. A successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment is expected.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of professional experience performing analysis
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date: A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer engineering, Software engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date: A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering
  • 1+ years of experience in Statistical model building
  • 1+ years of experience in market research
  • 1+ years of experience in SQL querying
  • 2+ years of experience in business analysis
  • 1+ years of experience in consulting

Responsibilities
