About The Position

The Sr. Benefits & Leave of Absence Administrator is responsible for directing and planning day to-day operations of group benefits programs which include health and welfare and retirement plans. Administer, maintain and ensure data with respect to employee benefits data in CJ Logistics’ HR/Benefits Systems. This position provides excellent customer service and functions as a liaison between employees and local HR teams to advise individuals on benefits eligibility, coverage and other general matters. This position will report to the Sr. Director of Total Rewards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience required
  • 4+ years of related benefits or employee benefits administration experience
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including PowerPoint; experience with HRIS and benefits databases
  • Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • High level of discretion to maintain confidentiality at all times

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration
  • Evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes
  • Assist with ensuring compliance with applicable government regulations which include but are not limited to ACA, non-discrimination testing and other annual compliance filings
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees
  • Coordinate daily benefits processing. Handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, QDROs, QMCSOs, distributions, loans, hardships and compliance testing
  • Oversee maintenance of employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update employee payroll records
  • Gather employee data and oversee the processing of monthly billings, reconciliations and the preparation of vouchers for payment of administrative fees for all group plans
  • Provide customer service support to internal and external customers
  • Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package
  • Design and distribute materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment and summary plan descriptions
  • Provide training and support to HR team members, employees and managers
  • Oversee the leave of absence process and provide direction and guidance to employees and management
  • Manage escalation for sensitive leave of absence claims - work directly with the HR Managers and Legal to administer ADA leaves throughout the interactive process
  • Coordinate Open Enrollment planning and execution
  • Perform other related job duties as assigned or required
