About The Position

The Sr. Benefits Analyst is a senior-level subject matter expert for health, welfare, and voluntary benefit programs, providing guidance on plan administration, compliance, and complex issue resolution. The position partners closely with Global Benefits leadership to support renewals, vendor management, program enhancements, and data-driven analysis. It manages key vendor relationships, ensures regulatory compliance, and delivers high-touch support to HR partners, managers, and employees, while proactively identifying, leading, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives that enhance benefits processes, cost management, and the overall employee experience.

Requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience in related field.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources, Total Rewards, Benefits, or a related field, with demonstrated depth in health and welfare benefits administration
  • Proven experience partnering with third party vendors (e.g., benefits brokers, carriers, leave administrators), including managing service delivery, issue resolution, escalations, and vendor performance
  • Working knowledge of benefits related compliance and regulations, including ERISA, FMLA, HIPAA, and applicable federal and state requirements, with hands on experience supporting leaves of absence (LOA) programs and complex or escalated cases (e.g., long term disability, extended medical leaves, return to work coordination)
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze benefits or leave data, identify trends or root causes, and develop data driven recommendations for process, policy, or program improvements
  • Experience supporting benefits initiatives or projects such as process redesigns, system implementations, vendor transitions, documentation updates, knowledge management, or continuous improvement efforts
  • Experience supporting benefits financial and accounting activities, including budget tracking, invoice and carrier billing review, premium funding validation, and partnering with Accounting or Finance to resolve discrepancies or routine financial questions
  • Experience working with HRIS/HCM systems related to benefits and leave administration; PeopleSoft and/or Oracle Cloud experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical or regulatory topics to nontechnical audiences and effectively tailor messaging for employees, managers, HR partners, and senior leaders
  • High level of professionalism and discretion, with demonstrated experience handling sensitive employee matters and confidential information
  • Experience operating in a large, matrixed, or complex organizational environment, collaborating closely with HR Business Partners, managers, and cross functional stakeholders
  • Prior experience in a senior analyst or lead level role without direct people management responsibility
  • Exposure to global and/or multistate employee populations
  • Ability to work independently with minimal day to day direction, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and exercise sound judgment in fast paced or ambiguous environments while appropriately escalating issues as needed

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for assigned health, welfare, and voluntary benefit programs, providing consultative guidance on plan design, administration, compliance, and complex issue resolution to management, HR Partners, and employees
  • Partner with Global Benefits leadership to lead the implementation, analysis, and ongoing administration of complex benefit programs, policies, and initiatives, including annual health and welfare renewals, plan changes, and system updates
  • Conduct market analysis, benchmarking, and evaluation of benefits utilization, cost trends, and employee feedback to support external competitiveness and develop data driven recommendations for leadership
  • Monitor, interpret, and apply evolving federal, state, local, and country specific benefits regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, leave and disability laws), proactively recommending program, policy, or process changes to ensure compliance
  • Partner with management, HR Partners, and the Global Benefits team to ensure ongoing compliance of all benefit programs, including review and maintenance of plan documents, policies, summary materials, and regional or country specific documentation
  • Manage day to day vendor relationships for assigned benefit programs, including service delivery, issue resolution, escalation management, performance monitoring, and oversight of voluntary benefit programs
  • Support vendor renewals, contract reviews, performance guarantees, billing review, and ROI/VOI analysis, and assist with administrative and operational aspects of benefits financial management
  • Assist with HR and benefits budget processes by partnering with Finance, tracking budget status and variances, and preparing reports and summaries for HR and Benefits leadership
  • Provide high touch, consultative support for complex or sensitive benefits inquiries, including secondary support for escalations from the HR Support Center and backup support for the Benefits Accountant and other Global Benefits team members as needed
  • Serve as a trusted benefits resource for HR Partners and the business, supporting cross functional communication initiatives such as open enrollment, plan changes, and ongoing employee education
  • Serve as a key contributor to open enrollment planning and execution, including vendor coordination, system testing, employee communications, and issue resolution
  • Support ongoing review of state and local leave requirements (e.g., sick, vacation, disability) to ensure compliant and accurate administration
  • Maintain and update employee facing benefits resources, including Zendesk knowledge articles and BVTotalRewards.com content
  • Identify opportunities to improve benefits processes, documentation, and the employee experience through simplification, standardization, and continuous improvement
  • Participate in special projects, new plan implementations, and cross functional initiatives as assigned
