About The Position

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Benefits Analyst to lead compliance efforts in the Union Reporting space. This role requires a deep understanding of union agreements, reporting requirements, and payment processes, with a focus on identifying process gaps and ensuring timely compliance to avoid legal and financial repercussions. The ideal candidate will drive improvements in existing processes, maintain comprehensive compliance calendars and carry out audits to ensure 100% adherence, and provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders. You will report directly to our Benefits Director and you will work out of our Charlotte, NC location on a Hybrid work schedule.

Requirements

  • 5 plus years of experience in HR compliance and or/ paralegal role
  • Experience with union compliance
  • Project management experience, including excellent planning, time management, decision making and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present to senior leadership and engage stakeholders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools, HR information systems, and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Union Agreement Expertise: Thorough understanding of union agreements related to reporting, payments, remittances, due dates, and implications of non-compliance such as penalties and legal actions
  • Communicate and keep stakeholders aware of implications of delays or reporting inaccuracies
  • Process Improvement: Analyze existing union reporting / remittance processes to identify gaps and inefficiencies
  • Collaborate closely with process task owners to implement corrective actions and optimize compliance workflows – drive system and process corrections as needed
  • Compliance Calendar Management: Maintain and oversee a comprehensive calendar of all union-related compliance activities, including deadlines for reporting and payments; upkeep taking into consideration all M&As
  • Drive strict adherence to compliance deadlines through regular audits; execute actions to resolve observations; leverage ServiceNow to track
  • Performance Reporting: Create and publish regular scorecards and dashboards for Leadership with updated status, risks, issues, and mitigation strategies related to union compliance
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as primary point of contact for union agreements and compliance related inquiries
  • Manage stakeholders (Payroll, Benefits, HR, Legal, Finance) to drive compliance strategies
  • Manage notices, letters and other enquiries from statutory authorities regarding union compliance – partner with relevant stakeholders to quickly determine appropriate resolution action plan and aggressively drive closure actions.
  • Provide regular status updates to stakeholders / leadership
  • Vendor management
  • Liaise with vendors through respective internal functions / teams.
  • Hold vendors accountable
  • Advise vendor scope / contract changes required to ensure adequate support / commitment in areas related to union compliance
