The department is committed to maintaining integrity and recognizing the company's successes, ensuring that BNSF remains a leader in the railway industry. Within the Finance Department, several specialized departments contribute to its overall mission: Controller, Revenue Management, Strategic Sourcing, Tax, Treasury, and Strategic Studies. Each department is vital in managing BNSF's financial health and strategic financial planning. These departments work collaboratively to secure BNSF's economic stability and support its growth and innovation within the railway industry. This is a full-time position located in Fort Worth, TX. For certain positions, including this one, employees can work one day per week remotely. Travel is possible as determined by business need but typically less than 5% This position will work primarily with Mechanical stakeholders to deliver on the Strategic Sourcing Vision and create a lower Total Cost of Ownership structure. The role will also support in the development and execution of supplier management strategies. Requirements

  • Able to work now and in the future without BNSF’s assistance (whether monetary, through sponsorship, or otherwise) in obtaining, maintaining, or extending employment authorization (including H-1B, STEM OPT/CPT, or TN nonimmigrant status).
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 1-5 years’ experience in procurement or related BNSF work experience
  • Strong leadership skills and effective communication with both internal and external contacts
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Business partnership and relationship skills to collaborate across groups

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supplier, material, purchase, & contract transactions of $250M+ per year
  • Administration of contracts, including billing and payment of material and services
  • Interfaces closely with internal stakeholders in Mechanical, Finance, Sourcing, Law, and bnsf tech, as well as external suppliers and service providers.
  • Identify, implement and execute process improvements
  • Development and execution of BNSF strategies in support of $9B Sourcing supplier spend
