About The Position

This position is a full-time, hybrid, in-office role that works out of our Headquarters in Boston, MA (this role is not a virtual / remote position). Monday - Thursday in office and Friday WFH,. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Analyst to support Finance Operations' month-end close (MEC) activities. The Finance Operations Month-End Senior Analyst plays a critical role in the monthly financial close by managing complex reconciliations, leading the preparation and review of journal entries, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. This role partners closely with Accounting, Strategic Finance, and technology teams to resolve issues, improve processes, and support the Controller in overseeing the end-to-end close.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent a plus.
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance operations, or audit.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles; strong grasp of US GAAP/IFRS.
  • Experience managing reconciliations and journal entries in a complex, multi-entity environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
  • Proficiency in SQL/GBQ.
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills; exposure to automation/reporting tools preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor junior staff and review their work.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review complex reconciliations (e.g., intercompany, freight, deferred revenue, large accruals).
  • Review high-impact journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with policy.
  • Monitor progress against the close calendar and assist in coordinating deliverables across Finance Ops.
  • Provide first-level review of work prepared by Analysts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure reconciliations and journal entries comply with SOX/internal control requirements.
  • Maintain and update close checklists and sign-offs.
  • Partner with internal/external auditors as needed to support walkthroughs and control testing.
  • Act as a point of escalation for Analysts when breaks or discrepancies are identified.
  • Investigate unusual variances and provide clear explanations to Accounting and Strategic Finance.
  • Collaborate with Payroll, AP, AR, and Tech to address operational or system issues impacting close.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline close activities and reduce manual effort.
  • Lead small automation or workflow improvement projects within Finance Ops.
  • Provide feedback to the Controller on recurring issues and recommend solutions.
