Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related STEM field OR Master’s degree plus 8 years of related experience
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance required at time of hire. TS/SCI obtainable within reasonable time frame.
  • 15+ years of recent experience modeling communication data systems, preferably across satellite constellations and ground networks
  • 10+ years of recent experience with satellite-to-ground RF communication protocols, end-to-end packet prioritization, routing, or traffic modeling
  • Communication traffic modeling
  • Satellite constellation architectures (LEO/MEO/GEO)
  • RF communications protocols
  • End-to-end network routing and prioritization
  • Systems engineering and requirements decomposition

Responsibilities

  • Perform systems engineering activities, decomposing requirements into detailed traffic data flow models from satellite constellations to ground networks
  • Design and model communication data flows, ensuring optimized throughput, latency, packet prioritization, and routing
  • Support pre-planned and dynamic satellite scheduling and service allocation to enable missile tracking operations
  • Analyze missile tracking data and communication performance metrics to validate and refine traffic models
  • Support integration, testing, deployment, sustainment, and expansion of ground entry points, operations centers, and enterprise infrastructure
  • Contribute to the evolution of PWSA ground communications architecture
