The primary responsibility of the Senior Account Manager, Global Partnerships is to create value for the membership and Partner accounts through the achievement of annual company and departmental goals. This will be done through strategic sales and implementation of marketing programs to increase partner production with the Virtuoso Network; consistent tracking of revenue with strategy aimed at achieving individual, departmental and company goals. The person needs to be an experienced, strategic, detail-oriented, financially-savvy, motivated, and creative business leader comfortable with working across internal and external, North America and Global groups to deliver these results. Primary area of focus for this position is on luxury Cruise partners and will include a small number of partner assignments for other verticals such as Hotel, Tour and/or Tourism Boards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working in the travel industry
  • 4+ years of account management experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong Analytical and planning skills
  • Presentation and selling skills
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts
  • Critical thinker and problem-solver with excellent judgment and initiative
  • Flexibility and prioritization skills are important.
  • Strong product and promotion creation ability

Responsibilities

  • Achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including (but not limited to): Revenue Performance goals in marketing sales and event attendance sales.
  • Create and maintain robust Partner Briefs for each global and regional account in conjunction with Global Partner Briefs.
  • Work within the assigned budget to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Partners internally and externally in negotiating annual and/or quarterly targets with director and vertical leads.
  • Educate, advocate for, and train partners on relevant Virtuoso products, services and events to increase engagement and preferred partner penetration and sales.
  • Establishes mutually beneficial relationships with partners and Virtuoso members based on enriching engagement, trust, advocacy and creativity.
  • Organizes annual planning meetings and preparation and presentations of multi-year business sales proposals for preferred partners.
  • Understands Virtuoso marketing products and creates actionable, customized annual business/marketing plans for each partner account.
  • Collaborates with International Teams on global sales and marketing initiatives as well as assisting with negotiation, tracking and implementation of contracts in new markets.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing department to provide valuable input and Virtuoso marketing direction to Partners. This individual should be able to use data to analyze, plan, measure and leverage results.
  • Negotiates and promotes Virtuoso Voyages program opportunities in partnership with Virtuoso Product Team.
  • Manages partner participation in Sponsorships for Virtuoso meetings and events throughout providing and closing Sponsorship Opportunities with Partners and coordinating with Sponsorship team for a successful event.
  • Monitors and evaluates competing products and services to improve current sales programs and strengthen overall Virtuoso relevancy in the marketplace.
  • Serves as primary liaison for all account issues between suppliers and other departments within Virtuoso.
  • Acts as owner and/or subject matter expert on special projects as needed.
  • Resolves escalated account issues between member and supplier.
  • Builds strong relationships through consistent communication with designated account contacts, ensuring consistent flow of information between Virtuoso and supplier.
  • Conducts regularly scheduled meetings/updates and strategy calls with Cruise Partners.
  • Identifies, documents, and prioritizes business requirements for technology deliverables partnering with technology to deliver tools that support department objectives and goals.
  • Creates and manages content for portfolio specific publications and website pages, as well as company communications as applicable.
  • Participates in and supports all Virtuoso Committee meetings while ensuring updates and follow up on all issues.
  • Collaborates closely with Virtuoso Member Team colleagues.
  • Collaborates with Member Training and Marketing to develop products and programs that generate additional cruise sales and/or create efficiencies.
  • Works with Virtuoso Voyages Team on communication and management of Virtuoso Headquarter Group program with participating cruise line partners.
  • Facilitates and promotes team collaboration.
  • Attends company and industry events that support Virtuoso and Virtuoso Partners.
  • Works in collaboration with Member Team to maximize the value of participation in these events to both Member, Partner and Virtuoso.
  • Liaises with Member Training and Marketing departments on development and execution of sales and product training plans for selected supplier account relationships.
  • Escalates issues as required to  Virtuoso Senior Leadership and can present and communicate effectively with this group.
