We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team in Minneapolis MN . This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices while maintaining strong relationships with vendors and employees. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting principles and practices, with a strong focus on accounts payable functions.

Requirements

• Associates degree or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience
• Strong understanding of debits, credits, and corporate accounting practices with demonstrated ability to perform general ledger reconciliation
• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy with a proven track record of processing payments accurately and timely
• Self-starter, able to work independently with a strong sense of urgency demonstrating the ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities
• Proven track record of driving projects and assignments to completion, ensuring full compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards
• Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level required), Word, and Outlook
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with vendors and business partners
• Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, 0-1, TM, CPT, OPT, etc.). We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices accurately and efficiently
• Process checks, ACH and wire payments
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with month-end closing procedures
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely payments
• Perform general ledger account reconciliations
• Set up and maintain vendor records, including discounts, tax IDs, banking details, and address information
• Configure and maintain workflow approvals
• Prepare monthly reports
• Assist with annual audit process.
• Perform other duties as assigned
