About The Position

The Senior Accounting Clerk processes accounts payable and receivable. Additionally, this position is responsible for scanning, filing, logging, copying, and assisting in various office projects and completing special projects as assigned. Review and process daily Hotel & F&B receipts Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements Process accounts payable and receivable Daily enter key data of financial transactions in the database Research, track, and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies Reconcile accounts in a timely manner Completes special projects as assigned Cross-trains in the duties and responsibilities of the Hotel Front Desk Department as necessary Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward all guests, vendors, and coworkers Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience required
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English and have good verbal and written communication skills
  • PC proficiency is essential (Windows environment), and working knowledge of PMS & POS accounting software programs is preferred
  • Microsoft Office skills required
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Honesty and integrity
  • Self-starter
  • Inquisitive, detail-oriented

Nice To Haves

  • Specialized technical and accounting courses or equivalent preferred
  • PMS & POS software experience preferred
  • Hotel experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Review and process daily Hotel & F&B receipts
  • Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
  • Process accounts payable and receivable
  • Daily enter key data of financial transactions in the database
  • Research, track, and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
