About The Position

This position is responsible for the accounting activities and reporting for the domestic & international physical licensing business, in compliance with individual licensee contractual terms.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance
Experience with financial analysis, US GAAP and IFRS
4+ years related experience preferred
Experience in month end close and reporting preferred
Experience in entertainment industry preferred
Experience with contract review

Advanced proficiency in MS Office (specifically Excel)
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Experience with Media Maestro and SAP & Oracle is preferred
Self-starter with ability to proactively identify issues and propose resolutions
Excellent written & oral communication and inter-personal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize workload skillfully and meet strict deadlines

Responsibilities

Reviews and analyzes license agreements (interprets contractual terms; establishes revenue recognition requirements; establishes billing and payment terms).
Enters contracts into Media Maestro (PHE’s licensing platform).
Reviews statements sent through the licensee portal and pushes statement to Media Maestro.
Performs activities (reconciliations, title issues, etc.) required for processing statements in Media Maestro to ensure the correct recognition of revenue.
Tracks and invoices minimum guarantees and royalties to customers. Performs detailed analysis and research for reconciliation of accounts.
Prepares monthly reporting (AR Aging, Bad Debt, P&L, etc.)
Responds to inquiries from customers and planning / commercial teams.
Reviews receivables for past due balances and work with customers for resolution.
Prepares month end journal entries
Assists with ad-hoc accounting and reporting.
