About The Position

Senior Accountant is responsible for performing various financial and accounting activities for multiple plant sites. This role is responsible for preparing and analyzing financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards. Additionally, this role involves maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts, preparation of journal entries, assisting in the month-end and year-end closing processes to guarantee accurate financial reporting and various financial analysis. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing accounting and finance, including leadership or management of teams.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and manufacturing finance.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience with financial systems and ERP platforms (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365, OneStream, or similar).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and resource allocation skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively, and to partner effectively with plant leadership and cross-functional teams.

  • CPA or CMA strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the monthly financial close process, including preparation, review and approval of journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and overhead reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal control requirements, and company accounting policies.
  • Assist with plant-level budgeting activities, including operating budgets, capital budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections.
  • Oversee inventory accounting, cost accounting, and job costing processes, including analysis of material, labor, and overhead variances.
  • Analyze and report product line and project-level profitability to plant and corporate management.
  • Develop, track, and communicate key financial and operational performance metrics to support informed decision-making.
  • Collaborates across finance, operations, and engineering to evaluate capital investments, support continuous improvement, and provide analysis that informs plant performance and strategic decisions.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, responding to inquiries, and driving resolution of audit findings and recommendations.
  • Perform ad hoc reports and additional accounting duties, as needed, to support the team
