Position Summary: The Senior Accountant will work with the Accounting Manager to ensure the monthly financial close process is completed timely, and accurately completes assigned areas including monthly analysis, reporting, and communications. This individual will prepare general ledger journal entries where necessary for assigned functions, prepare monthly account reconciliations of the balance sheet accounts, and review monthly account flux analysis of the income statement accounts as required. Additionally, this individual will assist with other duties and projects such as process enhancements, internal controls monitoring, SOX documentation, and various accounting and finance tasks as required. Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar area of study
  • 5-7 years of accounting experience, CPA or in certification process a plus
  • Proficient knowledge of business systems and Microsoft Office applications with strong functional knowledge of MS Excel
  • Excellent communication skills; positive attitude
  • Team player capable of working in a deadline dictated environment.
  • High accuracy with keen attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Oversees staff accountant
  • Prepares and reviews monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Prepares ad-hoc analysis at the request of management
  • Ensures a strong internal control environment
  • Assesses and optimizes financial processes and controls
  • Identifies areas for operational improvement and partnering with others in Accounting, IT, and operations to implement changes
  • Participates in the implementation of new systems and technology
  • Serves as the point of contact for internal stakeholders and external auditors
  • Establishes and builds cooperative working relationships with a cross-functional team
  • Effectively communicates results with management
  • Demonstrates a willingness to challenge the status quo and performs all tasks with an emphasis on developing automation and efficiency
  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies
  • Ensures compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
