About The Position

As the Sr. Accountant, Inventory Cost you will be responsible for executing and improving inventory accounting processes that support accurate inventory valuation and COGS reporting across a network of external sites (e.g., 3PLs, co-manufacturers). This role owns key month-end close activities including inventory-related journal entries, rollforwards, reconciliations, and issue resolution. The Senior serves as a primary point of contact for troubleshooting system and process failures that impact inventory and cost and works cross-functionally to implement durable fixes. In-Office: Based full-time at CELSIUS® Headquarters in Boca Raton, FL

Requirements

  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with inventory/COGS exposure (CPG, manufacturing, distribution preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of inventory accounting fundamentals: rollforwards, reconciliations, reserves, cutoff.
  • ERP experience with inventory modules and subledger/GL relationships.
  • Advanced Excel skills (large data sets, pivots, lookups).
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot messy processes and drive issues to resolution.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA and/or public accounting background preferred.
  • Experience working with external warehouses (3PLs) and/or co-manufacturers, preferred.
  • Experience with standard costing, PPV, and variance analysis, preferred.
  • Familiarity with BI tools, SQL, or automation (nice to have).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post inventory-related journal entries (e.g., inventory movements, accruals, PPV entries as applicable, reserves, reclasses).
  • Prepare inventory rollforwards by location/entity and ensure subledger-to-GL integrity.
  • Produce and analyze close flux explanations for inventory and COGS-related accounts; escalate exceptions early.
  • Support inventory valuation activities including standard/actual costing impacts, landed cost/freight allocations (as applicable), and variance recognition.
  • Coordinate inputs and calculations for inventory reserves (slow-moving/obsolete, damaged/expired, shrink), including support packages and documentation.
  • Own preparation of inventory-related account reconciliations, ensuring reconciling items are researched, resolved, and cleared on a timely basis.
  • Maintain reconciliation standards (aging discipline, documentation, support retention) and ensure audit readiness.
  • Serve as a key inventory accounting “system issue” lead: identify transactional breaks (UOM/cost errors, integration failures, posting issues, timing/cutoff issues), diagnose root causes, and drive corrections.
  • Partner with IT/Supply Chain/Operations on fixes, testing, and implementation; document procedures and ensure repeat issues are prevented.
  • Develop and maintain standard workpapers, templates, close checklists, and SOPs.
  • Work closely with Inventory Operations/Control teams to understand quantity adjustments, count results, and transaction drivers.
  • Coordinate with Procurement and Supply Chain on PPV and other drivers of cost movement.
  • Support internal/external audits: provide schedules, tie-outs, walkthrough support, and evidence for key controls.
  • Participate in control execution and remediation (SOX/internal controls as applicable).
  • Partner with Inventory Manager & regional inventory control teams, Supply Chain / Logistics / 3PL partners, Procurement, IT / ERP support, Corporate Accounting / Controller’s group, and Internal/External Audit.
