What this job involves: This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting activities for assigned real estate properties. The position supports accurate financial operations, compliance with lease and client requirements, and effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders, while adapting to changing priorities and handling multiple responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.) in Accounting
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing environments
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build effective internal and external relationships
  • This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • 2–4 years of real estate accounting experience
  • Experience with Yardi
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, with advanced Excel proficiency preferred

Responsibilities

  • Preparing monthly journal entries, financial statements, and bank reconciliations in accordance with client requirements
  • Managing Accounts Receivable processes, including monitoring bank accounts, reconciling receipts, posting ACH/Wire payments, and approving manual billing adjustments
  • Overseeing Accounts Payable activities, including invoice review, coding, approval verification, audit trail maintenance, and submitting AP batches for check cutting
  • Reviewing lease CAM language to ensure CAM pools are set up accurately
  • Supervising cash management procedures and coordinating payroll reporting
  • Assisting with annual budget preparation, including recovery setup and calculations
  • Managing year-end reconciliations (CAM, percentage rent, insurance, utilities, sewer/trash, and real estate taxes) and supporting audits and ad-hoc projects
