About The Position

Sr. Account Manager, Aftermarket Primary Purpose of Role The Sr. Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing strategic OEM Service and Distribution aftermarket accounts within the Off-Highway market (Agriculture, Construction, Mining, Material Handling). This role owns customer business planning, revenue growth, operational alignment and long-term partnership development. This position is the main interface between the customer and internal operations, ensuring customer satisfaction while achieving business plan targets.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of complicated technical products and market knowledge of the Off-Highway markets as well as industry knowledge of the industry would be preferred
  • Proven track record managing strategic accounts and delivering sales growth
  • Experience working and building product portfolio strategy to create significant profitable growth through customer relationships
  • Proven success in reinvigorating customer relationships, leading customer business reviews and managing commercial negotiations
  • Previous experience delivering to customers while operating in a matrix environment
  • Adaptability, skilled at problem-solving, including the ability to identify and resolve issues and challenges and contribute to team success
  • Demonstrated strong business acumen, including knowledge of manufacturing, finance, marketing, and the ability to understand the impact of supply chain decisions on overall business success
  • Strong, confident interpersonal and organizational skills and able to work with people at all levels within and outside Allison Off-Highway Drive & Motion Systems in a professional manner
  • Strong personal computer skills required, including experience with MS Office software
  • Must possess the confidence, intellectual capabilities, and energy to be a promotable person within the organization
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business or science (engineering), master’s degree a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years in Off-Highway vehicle or similar Heavy Duty vehicle industry sales and business development with proven results and success in building customer relationships and negotiation
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% to 50% of the time primarily for customer visits and service network engagement, with the ability to work non-traditional business hours

Responsibilities

  • Primary customer contact in North America for Off-Highway products distributed throughout the Allison Off-Highway Drive & Motion Systems Distribution Channels
  • Develop a sales strategy and objectives, executive briefings, and prepare communication with senior Allison Off-Highway Drive & Motion Systems leadership and senior customer level
  • Represent Voice-of-the-Customer (VOC) within Allison Off-Highway Drive & Motion Systems and responsible for customer metrics
  • Maintain accurate regional revenue forecasts and sensitivity analysis by providing analytical and thoughtful information in a data-driven environment
  • Review and monitor monthly customer sales performance, customer activities and effectively communicate developments to the Allison Off-Highway Drive & Motion Systems constituents both internally and externally
  • Manage North American sales, and work effectively with the Allison Off-Highway Drive & Motion Systems global team members in a matrix structure
  • Understand customer products and organizational structure to build relationships with teams and engage customers effectively.
  • Develop stronger relationships with customers at the senior level
  • Research and identify additional sales growth opportunities, propose and develop sales packages, propose distribution expansion initiatives and create business development plans
  • Lead market intelligence initiatives covering customer service and distribution networks to identify growth opportunity areas and strengthen customer partnerships
  • Design and implement an effective long range growth strategy across customer locations for strategic accounts
  • Negotiate pricing and other critical supply chain matters (quality, delivery, and timing).
  • Build relationships with customers at different levels, in different departments, and at locations in order to support current and future business
  • Oversee accounts receivable activity, ensuring recovery of costs, make product presentations to customer purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing departments/representatives
  • Partner with internal Allison Off-Highway Drive & Motion Systems teams (pricing, product planning, distribution center and marketing) to achieve growth objectives
  • Maintain current knowledge of competitor’s distribution models, market activity and significant changes
  • Collaborate with customer service to problem-solve customer challenges while ensuring a timely and effective customer response
