Role: SQL Server Lead/Architect Location: Remote Must have worked on SQL Server Development (SSIS) and SQL DBA Key Responsibilities: Technical Ownership and Architecture Own the full SQL Server estate: databases, schemas, tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers, SSIS packages, SQL Server Agent jobs, schedules, and dependencies. Document current-state and target-state architecture for ETL, scheduling, and data processing workflows. Define and enforce standards for design, coding, deployment, and operational readiness across SQL and SSIS. Partner with application and infrastructure teams to align capacity, availability, and operational practices. Troubleshooting, Performance, and Optimization Diagnose and resolve production issues: slow queries, deadlocks, blocking, timeouts, failed jobs, SSIS execution failures, and throughput bottlenecks. Optimize at the programming layer: execution plan analysis, query refactoring, indexing strategy, SSIS performance tuning, parallelism, batching, and transaction/log management. Optimize at the infrastructure layer: CPU/memory sizing, IO and storage patterns, tempdb strategy, SQL Server configuration, and environment hardening. Establish performance baselines and telemetry and drive measurable improvements against SLAs and business outcomes.
