Application Architect -.NET / SQL Server
About The Position
The Citadel is hiring a Software Architect – Consultant to assist in a project upgrading a proprietary software, the Cadet Accountability System. Daily Responsibilities: • Assess technical feasibility: architecture, scalability, and security of the current CAS system. • Examine operational alignment: support for cadet workflows and Commandant, Academic, and Athletic departments. • Review interoperability: integration with Banner, Canvas, My Citadel Portal, and health systems. • Analyze user experience, adoption, and training needs. • Evaluate economic feasibility: total cost of ownership (TCO) and ROI compared with alternative systems. • Analyze exiting codebase and provide recommendations, timeline, and roadmap for modernization or replacement. • Work with cross-functional teams on complex projects • Present and prepare reports • Assign appropriate priorities to work activities based on organizational goals and situational pressures • Effectively plan and communicate work activities and deadlines
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with C#
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL
- 3+ years of experience gathering and documenting project requirements
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with front end web technologies such as React, JavaScript, and Material UI
- 3+ years of experience analyzing existing code and creating modernization plans.
- Familiarity with 3rd party data integrations using REST API’s and SQL extracts.
