About The Position

Your Team Responsibilities Database installation and Configurations: Setting up and configuring SQL Server databases including hardware and software requirements, initial database setup and environment optimization based on existing instances and new business needs Performance Monitoring and Tuning: Continuously monitoring system health, and analyzing performance bottlenecks, suggesting query improvements, and optimizing indexing and high availability and responsiveness Backup and Recovery: Designing, implementing, and regularly testing backup and disaster recovery strategies to protect data integrity and minimize downtime Security and Access Management: Managing user access, permissions, and authentication; enforcing security policies, implementing encryption and ensuring compliance and regulatory standards Database Maintenance: Applying patches and upgrades, performing scheduled maintenance, and supporting release deployment to keep system secure and up to date Incident and Problem Management: Troubleshooting and resolving database issues, supporting incident responses, and providing 24/7 support for critical production system Collab and support: Assisting developers with query tuning and database design; supporting end users and business projects Planning for Growth: Assessing capacity needs, planning for future expansion and recommending upgrades and changes Your Key Ressponsibilities Supporting routine operations, learning and developing required skills for tools such DataDog, Resolve.AI, Sentry, SCOM, SNOW while contributing to teams' effectiveness Assisting with Database Installation and Configuration Performing Regular Backups and Recovery Procedures Monitoring Database Performance Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution Document and Reporting Support User Access and Security Management Collab with DBA, appdev and SRE team Members

Requirements

  • Mid level knowledge of SQL script and experience in MS SQL Server database technology
  • Understanding of database concepts such as tables, indexes, queries and relationship
  • Familiarity with database management tools and basic admin tasks like backups, restores and monitoring
  • Basic OS knowledge (Windows and preferably Linux)
