About The Position

Our client is seeking a SQL database administrator working in a close cross-functional team environment supporting IT Infrastructure. This position will be hybrid (3 days onsite in Whitehall and 2 days remote). The position involves: Proactively performing database monitoring and performance tuning. Help implement and maintain DB security controls that align with industry and regulatory requirements. Assess incidents and vulnerabilities, monitor patching status, configuration baselines, and review the results of various compliance test relating to SQL technologies. Assist infrastructure staff with understanding performance and capacity monitoring aspects . Remain current on best practices and technological advancements and act as a technical resource for compliance. Develop, document, and revise system design procedures, test procedures, and security standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems. Will accept 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with SQL Database Technologies.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
  • Extensive experience with DBA front-end and back-end tools
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Hands-on experience with SQL database management.
  • Windows Operating system experience
  • Working knowledge and experience working with various scripting languages, including but not limited to PowerShell.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and Organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a self-directed or team environment.
