About The Position

The Sports Information Student-Worker opening reports directly to the Sports Information Director and Asst. Sports Information Director. Responsible for assisting with the day-to-day coverage of Penn State Harrisburg’s 19 varsity sports.

Requirements

Must be able to work afternoons, evenings and weekends.
2 to 10 hours per week, depending on the time of year.
Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.

Nice To Haves

Strong writing skills
General knowledge of athletics
Graphic design and video production are preferred.
May require the ability to work in an outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.

Responsibilities

Maintaining statistics and records for several sports.
Preparation of game programs.
Assisting with game-day operations.
Stat calling and inputting.
Preparation and distribution of press releases.
Writing news releases and event recaps.
Updating social media accounts, assisting in the live streaming of athletic events.
Public address announcing.
Play-by-play and/or color commentary.
Other duties as assigned.
