POSITION SUMMARY: The Sports Attendant assists the Program director in providing exemplary service to members and participants. Helps ensure the safety and well-being of all employees, players, and spectators who may be participating within the program. The Sports Attendant will always be approachable and dedicated to providing participants with the most enjoyable experience possible. In addition, the Sports Attendant will incorporate the values of honesty, respect, caring, faith and responsibility into the daily functions of the YMCA. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Daily performs safety check of equipment Sets up and breaks down equipment in a timely manner Ensures that games begin and end at scheduled times Assists Sports Director in Adult & Youth Sports and Interactive Zone programs Assists supervising officials and participants at game sites Responds to injuries through administering first aid and proper reporting Settling on-field and on-court rule protests and disputes Monitors on and off-site activities and enforces rules and regulations Obtains feedback from players & spectators regarding their participation in the program Ensures all areas of responsibility are clean and free of potential safety risks Communicates YMCA policies, programs, and special events Promotes the YMCA mission, vision, and character development Actively participates in annual fund raising (We Build People) campaigns Assists with coaches meetings, captains meeting, dinners, and other special events Be physically present in the program. This requires most weekend and evening hours Attends center and association meetings as appropriate and directed by your supervisor Attainment of goals and objectives as evidenced in the performance appraisal process Works to increase participation and retention of members/participants Develops and maintains good staff and volunteer relations Assists with other duties as requested Requirements LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES: Developing Self and Others Communication and Influence Emotional Maturity
