About The Position

Archbishop Moeller is an all-male, Catholic high school (grades 9-12) located in Cincinnati, OH. Founded by the Marianist order of Priests and Brothers, Moeller is a Catholic high school in the Marianist tradition. Moeller offers a comprehensive, college preparatory curriculum which includes over 30 Advanced Placement/College Credit Plus courses, as well as courses in visual and performing arts, world language, business The spirit wear retail shop manager oversees the daily operations of the school’s spirit wear store, driving a positive customer experience for students, staff, families, and visitors. This role manages merchandising, inventory, sales, volunteer staffing (including student workers if applicable), and financial procedures while promoting school pride through high‑quality branded apparel and accessories. The position also oversees operations in the mailroom.

Requirements

  • Previous retail, merchandising, or customer service experience.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Basic proficiency with computers and POS systems (Shopify).
  • Ability to lift and move boxes of merchandise (typically 20–40 lbs).

  • Experience managing a retail operation and supervising staff.
  • Familiarity with inventory management software
  • Experience working with youth or in an educational setting
  • Merchandising experience (a bonus for custom product ordering)

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily store operations, including opening, closing, cash handling, and customer service.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment.
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS system (Shopify).
  • Coordinate online store operations (if applicable), including order fulfillment and customer communication.
  • Organize sales operations at events as needed.
  • Maintain spirit shop website.
  • Select and purchase spirit wear merchandise in alignment with school branding guidelines.
  • Monitor inventory levels; conduct regular counts and coordinate reorders.
  • Create appealing product displays that highlight new, seasonal, and popular items.
  • Work with vendors to source high-quality, cost‑effective apparel and accessories.
  • Effectively maximize sell through of slow-moving items.
  • Use the spirit shop website and school social media outlets to create promotions.
  • Sorting Inbound mail Into mailboxes.
  • Posting of outbound mail daily with electronic postage meter.
  • Management of Inbound and outbound parcels and follow up on pick ups daily.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies, special promotions, and event‑based product launches.
  • Collaborate with school leadership, athletics, clubs, and parent organizations to support spirit events and maximize fundraising opportunities.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and promote school pride through exceptional service.
  • Train and supervise volunteer workers, promoting essential skills such as customer service, punctuality, and responsibility.
  • Create work schedules and ensure compliance with school policies regarding student and volunteer employment and store operating hours.
  • Track sales and expenses; prepare weekly or monthly financial reports.
  • Manage budgets for purchasing, staffing, and store operations.
  • Ensure compliance with school financial policies and audit requirements.
