About The Position

This position is PRN, either 1 or 2 days each week, at Talking Tadpoles, a pediatric private practice providing speech, feeding, and occupational therapy to children aged 6 months to 20 years. The practice partners with families to help them lead more fulfilling lives through goal achievement, valuing efficiency, family care, and mutual support in a family-centered environment. As a Pediatric SLP, you will work in a clinic setting, supported by a therapist-focused team that emphasizes empathy, collaboration, and personal growth. You will benefit from weekly individual meetings with a lead who understands daily challenges and successes. The role allows you to focus on working with children and collaborating with like-minded professionals, with support provided at every step. Talking Tadpoles offers specialty programs for clinicians to grow skills in advanced areas like AAC and feeding, and promotes internally into clinical and operational leadership roles, committed to developing team members for management or leadership pathways. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, dedicated, and passionate about therapy.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology
  • Current Texas license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist
  • Must be articulate, courteous, and supportive in dealing with clinical and administrative colleagues, patients and parents with ability to honor confidentiality
  • Ability to meet productivity and documentation deadlines
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in spoken and written English, including clinical documentation, patient education, and collaboration with team members
  • Ability to use computers, tablets, and electronic health record systems for documentation, scheduling, and communication
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries, ethical conduct, and confidentiality at all time
  • Ability to work effectively with children who may exhibit behavioral, emotional, or sensory regulation challenges
  • Ability to assist patients with transfers, positioning, or mobility as appropriate
  • Ability to arrive to assigned locations on time and maintain regular, reliable attendance
  • Ability to work scheduled hours
  • Meticulous attention to detail over the course of the workday
  • Ability to sustain physical and mental activity throughout a scheduled workday

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient care and related activities in accordance with best practice/evidence-based practice guidelines, while following an individualized plan of care based upon evaluation/reassessment findings according to clinical guidelines
  • Complete patient evaluations and reassessments in accordance with hospital and department guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with patient/family/therapists/physicians and other health care professionals to promote quality patient care
  • Provide instruction/education to patients and families/caregivers with accurate and thorough information consistently to patients and families concerning their participation in the continuity of care
  • Assess patient and family needs regarding their level of understanding, ability to assimilate information and the most desirable method of teaching
  • Maintain a current awareness and participate in office quality activities
  • Deliver competent and skilled treatment for speech, language, and communication disorders using best practice/evidence-based practice guidelines and develops an individualized plan of care based upon evaluation/reassessment findings
  • Complete evaluations and reassessments in accordance with clinic guidelines and established guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with patient/family/therapists/administrators and other stakeholders to promote quality services
  • Provide accurate and thorough information consistently to families concerning their participation in the patient's continuity of care
  • Document patient information in Electronic Medical Record according to office policies within established guidelines
  • Document patient information in Electronic Medical Record according to office policies and clinic guidelines and established timelines
  • Participate in staff development and attends health, safety and training in-services and other obligatory activities
  • Perform other essential functions as needed, including minimal supervision once trained
  • Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations in all interactions
  • Adhere to safety protocols and infection-control procedures
  • Supervise SLP-A as needed by the Practice
