About The Position

The SLP will provide assessment, therapy and consultation services for students ages 3-21 who have a variety of communication disorders. Services may be provided individually, in small groups or in classroom settings. The SLP functions as a member of a team in assessing, placing and programming for all disabled students. The SLP consults and collaborates with regular and special education teachers. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Washington State ESA certificate with Speech and Language Pathologist endorsement or ability to obtain
  • Master's degree in Speech Pathology
  • Satisfactory evaluations
  • Able to bill for Medicaid or receive appropriate training to bill
  • COMPLETION OF SAFE SCHOOLS WEB BASED TRAINING IS REQUIRED AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Academic background which includes speech pathology and audiology.
  • Ability to complete assessments and develop appropriate IEPs and therapy.
  • Understand Federal and State laws pertaining to disabled students.
  • An appreciation of the confidential nature of his/her work
  • An ability to manage time effectively and be flexible to the demands of the position.
  • An ability to work with students in a positive and enthusiastic manner.
  • Knowledge and experience in working with students with autism as well as students with very significant disabilities.
  • Experience in teaming with other professionals.
  • Able to maintain proper records and facilitate necessary paperwork.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with students in individual, small groups and classroom settings.
  • Have knowledge of in-classroom services delivery model.
  • Spanish speaking.
  • Punctual and consistent attendance.
