Requirements

  • Master’s degree
  • Certification/Licensure
  • Valid certification as a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain detailed records of student progress.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations in special education.
  • Previous experience working with children in a school or childcare setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping purposes.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with school-aged children is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments to identify speech and language disorders in students.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language disorders.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a comprehensive support system.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
  • Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and contribute valuable insights.
  • Stay updated on current research and best practices in speech and language therapy.
  • Work closely with other members of the special education team to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
  • Attend internal and external meetings & trainings
  • Student data management via Infinite Campus and other software programs
  • Conduct & review evaluations
  • Assist in setting up and organizing materials and resources for after-school programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
