  • Proven success in sales, business development, or account management — ideally within building materials or adjacent industries.
  • The ability to navigate complex challenges, analyze trends, and offer innovative solutions.
  • Comfort working both independently and collaboratively across functions.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Strategic Growth Lead all sales efforts for your specialty category, aligning to BlueLinx’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities. Build district-level sales plans with General Managers and execute against targeted goals. Identify and cultivate new business opportunities and expand revenue with existing customers.
  • Be the Customer’s Trusted Partner Manage relationships with key accounts, ensuring a strong value proposition and proactive problem-solving. Deliver outstanding customer service, ensuring needs are met with speed, accuracy, and professionalism. Provide product expertise and support impactful customer presentations.
  • Increase Market Penetration & Profitability Improve product mix, penetration, and overall profitability across your assigned customers. Stay informed of market trends, competitor activity, and pricing dynamics to advise on strategy.
  • Support & Develop the Sales Team Conduct joint sales calls with Sales Representatives to identify growth opportunities. Offer coaching, mentoring, and ongoing support to strengthen sales effectiveness. Recommend product or service enhancements that drive customer satisfaction and competitive advantage.
