About The Position

Our Retirement team combines expertise in retirement, actuarial, compliance and administration consulting to support global organizations worldwide in designing, managing, administering, and communicating all types of retirement plans. Whether a client has a defined benefit pension, and/or a defined contribution plan, we collaborate with the organization to determine the right approach to design, funding, investing, governing, compliance, administration and employee engagement that fits their specific goals. You will contribute to our national project delivery team and make a valuable difference every day to our high-profile client organizations focusing primarily on defined contribution plans. One of the fastest growing areas of our retirement business is assisting clients with various special projects requiring defined contribution expertise. You will have the opportunity to significantly enhance your knowledge of all aspects of benefit plan compliance, design and operation, employ the most cutting-edge tools and resources and work with some of the world’s experts in retirement plan design and management and interact with a national group of colleagues on project delivery. The Shared Delivery Consultant is a senior individual contributor within WTW’s Retirement business who supports complex, high‑impact retirement projects across clients nationally. This role partners closely with consulting, administration, compliance, and outsourcing teams to deliver defined contribution, defined benefit, and retirement compliance solutions, particularly in situations requiring deep technical expertise, structured execution, and cross‑team coordination. Shared Delivery Consultants focus on special projects, remediation efforts, governance and compliance initiatives, and operational transformations, often spanning multiple workstreams and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in retirement consulting, administration, compliance, actuarial, or outsourcing environments
  • Strong background in: Retirement plans (DB, Retiree Welfare, 401(k), 403(b))
  • Strong background in: Retirement plan compliance and governance
  • Strong background in: Administration and operational execution
  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Proven experience successfully working on multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time
  • Track record of success in managing large client relationships and leading global teams
  • Experience in managing multiple people and projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget
  • Proven ability to recognize and diagnose issues, work in teams, and leverage the resources of other related practices to address client challenges
  • An executive presence with polished and well developed written and oral communication skills
  • Superior ability to influence and collaborate with senior management and work across all levels of an organization
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to work with remote teams and travel as needed

Nice To Haves

  • PEP experience (for retirement plans)
  • Certifications (FSA, ASA, EA, ASPPA, CEBS) or other designations for practical experience
  • Microsoft Copilot experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead or support large, complex retirement projects across defined contribution, defined benefit, and administration scopes
  • Serve as a primary or senior point of contact for clients on complex technical and compliance‑driven work
  • Translate complex retirement, compliance, and administration issues into clear options and deliverables
  • Review and contribute to scopes of work, pricing, budgets, timelines, and delivery plans
  • Partner with consultants, administrators, actuaries, and compliance specialists to ensure coordinated, high‑quality delivery
  • Identify project risks, issues, and dependencies and recommend pragmatic solutions
  • Support remediation, error correction, and risk‑mitigation efforts (including E&O‑related work)
  • Act as a subject matter expert in retirement plan compliance, governance, and administration
  • Support work involving: ERISA and IRC compliance
  • Support work involving: DC and DB plan operations
  • Support work involving: Vendor oversight and governance
  • Support work involving: Operational readiness and remediation
  • Perform technical review of work products prepared by others
  • Help clients and internal teams assess regulatory, fiduciary, and operational risk
  • Contribute to WTW’s national Shared Delivery model, supporting teams across regions and client segments
  • Partner with consulting leadership to: Scope and structure complex work
  • Partner with consulting leadership to: Identify resourcing needs
  • Partner with consulting leadership to: Support delivery model decisions
  • Participate selectively in sales calls, client discussions, and solution design
