About The Position

Coordinates the activities within the production team to help with the opening and closing of production work orders. Provides guidance to the team members regarding the workflow and status of all work orders in the various stages of the process. This individual also ensures work orders meet all current GMP and GDP practices and internal procedures. The Work Order Specialist has as a good understanding of the various processes the production team must follow and the required documentation of each. This role will also perform (or assist) in the auditing of work orders and report findings to the various department leaders.

Requirements

  • Experience using standard office equipment and software is required. Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Must be extremely organized and able to multi-task.
  • Must be able to work with planners, leads and supervisors from various departments to effectively resolve issues.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills to be able to deal with all levels of personnel.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years' experience within the production environment.
  • Basic understanding of routers, work order documentation (electronic or paper), and good documentation practices.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as point of contact and subject matter expert of issues related to all aspects of production work orders.
  • Track scheduling and prepare work order packets for various departments. This may include the following: printing labels, forms, instructions etc.
  • Assist in closing work orders. This may include ensure team members completed all required tasks appropriately prior to moving the work order to the next phase.
  • Track work orders throughout the processes and ensure timely closer.
  • Report to various production teams the status of work orders in their departments and the reason for any misses.
  • Track and manage KPIs related to work order status and accuracy.
  • Adhere to cGMP and cGDP guidelines,
  • Recommend updates to SOP's to help with continuous improvement within the company.
  • Function as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the various stages of a work order.
  • Provide guidance to other team members to ensure compliance and consistency to processes and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
