About The Position

Maintaining and supporting critical OSS tools (VantagePM, NIM, Asset, U2020, NCE, UME) to ensure fault-free performance, data integrity, and the delivery of real-time KPIs. Providing end-to-end operation and maintenance of Linux systems and Oracle databases, ensuring 99.9% availability through automated deployments, performance tuning, and robust disaster recovery protocols.Ensuring all relevant processes, policies and procedures are in place to minimise Network risks.

Requirements

• Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication / Electrical Engineering or any other relevant degree.
• At two (2) years’ experience working as either Linux/Unix System administrator or database administrator or both.
• Over 2 years’ experience in Mobile GSM Network Environment.
• Negotiation skills
• Very good programming/scripting skills
• Good Analytical and Troubleshooting skills
• A highly analytical Technologist and Systems Administrator with a strong foundation in mathematics, engineering and statistics, specializing in the automated maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of complex mission-critical infrastructures.
• Programming, database administration and Linux administration.
• Process Engineering skills
• Understanding of ITIL standards and best practices within operational environments.
• Digital and computing skills.
• Leadership skills
• Communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Relevant certification / accreditation / membership with professional body for Engineers will be added advantage
• Knowledge of automation tool like, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef and knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Developing automated KPI dashboards and managed objects for end-consumer data visibility.
• Ensuring 99.9% availability and fault-free operation of core OSS tools (NIM, NCE, U2020, VantagePM, UME, SmartCare).
• Securing network elements and Linux environments through strict user access controls and vulnerability management.
• Designing and deploying in-house applications to bridge gaps in existing network management tools.
• End-to-end lifecycle management of Linux OS and Oracle/PostgreSQL databases, including failover testing.
• Process Automation, by implementing scripting (Python/Bash) to automate data integrity checks and eliminate repetitive manual tasks.
• Overseeing technical service delivery from external vendors to ensure compliance with operational SLAs; managing vendor support tickets, tracking system uptime
