About The Position

This role is responsible for facilitating smooth, accurate, and professional patient flow from the first point of contact through their destination within the facility. The Patient Access Representative ensures patient information is collected and entered correctly to support clinical care, billing accuracy, and overall patient satisfaction.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required

Nice To Haves

• Relevant experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Ability to learn and retain medical coding concepts; experience with ICD‑10 and CPT coding preferred
• Ability to interpret insurance information; knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology preferred
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient flow in a timely, accurate, and professional manner
• Obtain and verify demographic and financial information to ensure accurate patient records and optimal reimbursement
• Schedule appointments and interview patients to gather appropriate medical information
• Explain department and hospital charges, policies, and procedures to patients
• Validate and enter charges into appropriate systems and collect required payments
• Answer incoming calls and appropriately direct patients and visitors
• Support a positive patient experience through clear communication and attention to detail
