PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The position provides oversight and management of inventory control for CPKC materials for Engineering, Signals & Communications, Mechanical Car and Locomotive departments across a defined territory. You will also assist in the management of a regional material distribution center operation outlined by the manager.

Requirements

Post-Secondary Education, preferably a university degree in business, finance, engineering or a related field
Minimum 3 years’ experience managing inventory, warehousing, and distribution of materials
Valid driver's license
Experience working in a warehouse
Strong excel skills and analytical capabilities
Systems’ aptitude and experience with SAP is preferred but training will also be provided
Drug Testing This position is subject to a negative company drug test.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and support CPKC’s inventory control objectives, ensuring inventoried materials are properly transacted (right material at the right place and at the right time) and are counted per our Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) controls
Creating a safe workplace by executing a Safety Management system
Execute inventory control processes for a defined region or material scope, including executing counts and posting counts for all material types
Coordinate inventory count plans to ensure inventory controls are met
Business point of contact for material concerns for the portfolio defined for this role
Capital Inventory Support S&C, Engineering, Mechanical Car, Loco and Procurement to execute planning, transferring and delivery of material
Optimize CPKC Inventory materials while providing oversight on material management best practices
Assist in Management of Southern District Distribution Center
