Reporting to the Logistics Senior Manager, the Inbound Logistics Specialist is responsible for successful management of inbound materials shipping, both domestic and international, to support manufacturing timeline requirements. This is a fast-paced role that requires great attention to detail and prioritization skills. The Inbound Logistics Specialist will lead logistics operations required to fulfill manufacturing demand. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable and experienced in domestic LTL and FTL trucking, as well as ocean and air transportation, Incoterms, and customs entry processes. They should continuously review opportunities to optimize efficiency and reduce cost, working directly with logistics leadership to ensure logistics planning is effectively incorporated into the business supply chain strategy. Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and escalate challenges to leadership effectively.
  • Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of logistics software (ERP/TMS).
  • Must have extensive knowledge and experience in scheduling domestic trucking, international ocean and air freight, and inbound customs.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Incoterms.
  • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills required.
  • Ability to travel as needed (minimal).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in logistics operations.
  • Working knowledge of legal regulations and logistics compliance.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics or related field preferred.
  • Hazmat Certification and experience preferred.
  • Hazmat Certified preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Take the lead on inbound logistics operations, working directly with supply chain team to execute on a delivery plan that will meet manufacturing timeline requirements.
  • Proactively identify risks in supply chain planning as it relates to inbound logistics and work with logistics manager to minimize or remediate those risks.
  • Create and/or review required shipping documentation and maintain accurate records for customs compliance and supply chain management.
  • Process shipments in Transportation Management System, track and trace all in-transit shipments daily, and report status updates to appropriate internal or external contacts.
  • Support expedited shipment requests in a timely manner, document reason for expediting and seek opportunities to reduce future occurrences.
  • Continually review freight cost & transportation lanes for cost efficiency.
  • Engage internal and external resources as needed to ensure logistics compliance and safety.
  • Report on-time delivery metrics to Logistics Senior Manager.
  • Support logistics team with continuous improvement goals and strategies.
