About The Position

Support and enhance the effective use of technology within Beacon IMO Network schools by administering and managing activities within a specific area of responsibility. The role serves as the subject matter expert, applying gained knowledge to execute, maintain, and improve systems, programs, or processes while ensuring seamless integration of hardware, software, and analytics to drive innovation and empower staff, students, and stakeholders in achieving educational goals. Requirements

  • 3+ years Information Technology work experience in supporting desktop software and hardware. Supporting diverse user groups in an education environment preferred
  • Any system certification such as Google Educator Certification, Learning Management Certification, A+ or related certification(s) to repair in-warranty district Chromebooks preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Google Apps Workspace, including Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, and Slides
  • Effective communication, time-management and organizational skills
  • Ability to anticipate needs and proactively escalate or meet those needs as appropriate
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively handle and prioritize multiple demands and competing deadlines
  • Ability to take responsibility for one’s own performance
  • Work collaboratively with others on a team
  • Knowledge of a variety of software and applications, including Google, Microsoft Windows, Mac OSX, iOS, Chrome OS, Amazon Web Services, MS Office productivity suites, web browsers, educational apps, enterprise apps, and web apps as well as Chromebook, PC and Mac hardware, printers, peripherals, specialized hardware systems
  • Knowledge of Mac servers, virtual PC servers, enterprise systems (particularly the student information system)
  • Knowledge of network connectivity, network device configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to discuss issues at a technical or non-technical level, depending on the audience
  • Ability to read and interpret relevant manuals and information and to understand and troubleshoot a variety of programming techniques
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and occasionally deviate from established practices and procedures for new situations
  • Ability to provide own reliable transportation to perform work throughout school District
  • Ability and skills to quickly learn new systems and applications
  • Demonstrated success in troubleshooting, isolating and diagnosing problems

Responsibilities

  • Research, evaluate, and support new software and hardware to advance school innovation initiatives.
  • Provide high-quality, timely support to students, staff, and stakeholders both in person and remotely
  • Maintain and update team policies, procedures, incident management, and onboarding programs for new staff, ensuring relevant content is included
  • Train and build staff knowledge on supported technologies through professional development, including self-service tools
  • Manage and maintain network servers, software, and hardware updates, adhering to district and information security policies
  • Support school events by managing technology related logistics, including hardware and software setup
  • Ensure compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, and other state privacy regulations, providing staff training as needed
  • Audit, maintain, and manage software and hardware inventory, including offboarding and onboarding devices, and repairing equipment as authorized
  • Leverage business analytics to provide actionable reports and insights for school leadership and stakeholders
  • Lead meetings, projects, and technology implementations while serving as the team’s subject matter expert and escalation partner for complex issues
