Position Overview — Special Inspector (ACI/ICC) We’re looking for a Special Inspector (ACI/ICC) to support our expanding portfolio of infrastructure projects. In this role, you’ll play an essential part in ensuring quality, durability, and compliance across field inspections, testing, and project execution.

Requirements

  • ACI Grade I / ACI Grade II
  • ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector
  • ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Special Inspector
  • ICC Mechanical Inspector
  • ICC Welding Inspector
  • 1–10 years of experience in conducting inspections in Geotechnical, Civil, and Structural disciplines, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards
  • OSHA 30 Construction Safety Training (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong communication and attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel to project sites

Responsibilities

  • Prepare inspection schedules by reviewing project permits, plans, and specifications related to concrete, masonry, bolting, and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct field inspections based on certification (ACI, ICC Masonry, Bolting, Mechanical) to ensure work complies with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
  • Issue notices for corrections, interpret codes, and recommend compliance procedures.
  • Submit daily inspection reports within <24 hours
  • Maintain 90%+ completion of all assigned safety training
  • Target zero avoidable safety or equipment incidents
  • Submit 98% of draft reports within 8 hours — with minimal revisions
  • Maintain 95% on-time site check-in/check-out
  • Less than 1 serious issue per quarter related to Inspections, Measuring, and Test Equipment due to technician error, lack of maintenance, or lost/damaged equipment
  • Maintain accurate inspection records using AEIS digital reporting tools
  • Review and verify technical documents (e.g., WPS/PQR , lab results, etc.)
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and QA/QC Specialists
  • Contribute to lessons-learned discussions and workflow improvements
